    Good morning BA
I'm having some cherry juice for breakfast this morning...
Either the best or worst beer Bell's has every made if you read enough reviews. I'm in the middle. You would probably have to love cherry more than stout for this to be a favorite. Last day of vacation so I'll be back once or twice. Cheers all!

Gouden Carolus triple - if you have never tried it, do so it’s outstanding

A post-run recovery beer - and well-earned: I managed my fastest time in almost 19 years (albeit still not a score worth advertising, as I am a terrible runner)! Dropping about 25 pounds over the last 9 months hasn't hurt, I'm sure. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Deep amber gold color with good cap and lacing.

Aroma of rich caramel malt that has a lifting sort of freshness about it. Mild but present are floral, spicy hops.

Taste is malty caramel in the Vienna Style except moreso. This is a flavorful brew that displays the malt well without going off into sweetness, rather richness. There is an underlying element of toasted or lightly roasted malt that doesn't introduce roast bitterness but serves to deepen the malt profile. With this level of malt goodness there's little the hops can do but struggle to keep up yet they manage to make themselves known.

    Full texture with balancing carbonation.

This one could stand up to the spiciest of Cajun Cuisine yet is eminently drinkable on it's own. A few demerits for lack of complexity but oh my, it does deliver a truckload of flavor.

Starting the day with a most satisfying breakfast stout...

An incredibly balanced and chewy breakfast stout with elements of bittersweet chocolate, vanilla and some subtle coffee-like notes. The alcohol presence stays slyly hidden within the luscious sweetness and the heavy, velvety mouthfeel lingers on the palate for some long-term satisfaction after each sip.

Had this one the first time at the brewery just a few days ago (last Saturday to be exact). Now enjoying this back in Colorado Springs...

I should have bought an extra four-pack of this to bring back (I bought one for my friend in Michigan, plus there was one bottle in the sample four-pack that did come back to Colorado with me). The beer is just an incredibly balanced pilsner, light and tasty, with a finely balanced cereal grain body and satisfying noble hop balance. Looks like another road trip to Wooly Pig needs to happen...

...above, at the brewery last Saturday afternoon...

Bourbon, charred oak, a lot of dark fruit and a ton of cocoa powder on the finish.

This is going to be fun...

Taking a breather from toiling around the house this morning with a barrel aged Plead The 5th from last year. A palate pleasing mix of sweetness, dark roast and bourbon. My quest to drink down the old stash continues.......

    Round #2
Did I mention it's my last day of vacation? This is my 600th beer on BeerAdvocate...
Really enjoying this one. Everything I hoped it would be. Absolute bargain considering I bought 8 barrel aged 12 ounce bottles in a mix pack for less than the 750mL of CBS I bought last week.

I suppose that's the journey. Seeing what's worth the price in your own eyes. Drink well friends!
