Changed the recipe for the 2nd time. This was fantastic. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, green pepper, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy wheat/oats and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds, light-moderate increasing dryness, no hop astringency. Extremely drinkable, not aggressive, minimal warming 9.6%. This is pretty refreshing for a DIPA. A lot of hop varieties, but everything came together perfectly. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; nice wheat/oat/malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness. This is very well attenuated for the ABV, and a lot less malty than the original. I liked it a bit more than last year, I think this would be fine to stay as is. Holding up amazingly well for 7 months too.

This is amazing. Aromas and flavors of huge caramel, brown sugar, raisin, plum, fig, red apple, cherry, orange zest, toffee, vanilla, coconut, rye whiskey, toasted oak, brown bread, and nuts. Light herbal hop and rye whiskey/oak spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; creamy/slick malts, some sticky hops and whiskey/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing sticky hop, spicy rye, oak tannin dryness. Mildly warming 12%, no barrel booze. Just as amazing as I remember from when I first reviewed it. Glad these are in 4 packs now, need to go find another one. Perfect rye barrel integration with what I would classify as a rye malt English barleywine overall.

This euro pale lager is not a great beer - mediocre at best.

I expected that @superspak would be the first one at the virtual bar this morning, so I cracked open this amazing barrel-aged stout that he gave me! This is really delicious, and perfect for a cold, wintry morning! Thank you, sir!

Awesome imperial red. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, light nutty/roasted malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, minimal warming 8.7%. Great classic Amarillo/Columbus profile. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; great balanced dark/biscuity malt backbone, mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. Hope we keep seeing more fresh OB now, we just got a new distributor for them finally. Powers is still the worst in the state, they had them previously.

Awesome fruit stout as expected. Aromas and flavors of big juicy red/black cherries, fruit skin/pits, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, brown sugar, toffee, fudge, marshmallow, almond, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of coffee, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, and herbal hops. Light herbal/roast bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, bready, silky, velvety mouthfeel. Light slickness, stickiness, chalky roast, fruit tang/acidity, and increasing dryness. No cloying sweetness. Minimal warmth of 10%. This is really impressive. Awesome balance of authentic cherries, chocolate, and dessert stout malt complexity. Nothing overwhelming. Tastes exactly like chocolate dipped cherries 100%.

I just completed my mosh-training session, in order to prepare for the Cannibal Corpse concert next week. This beer is one of my favorites. Thank you, @SomethingClever, for providing this post-workout nutrition!

Amazing NEIPA as always. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced honey, wheat, toasted bread, light caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/bready malt mouthfeel; some sticky hops and slight resins. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, never astringent. Used to be Boxer, but some legal crap made them change the name. I slightly prefer it over M43. More malty from the Vienna/Munich malts; and also prefer the hop profile more because of Equinox/Mosaic additions. Old Nation is making the best NEIPAs in the state. Always have all of them in the fridge now.

Always amazing, one of the best pumpkin ales I've ever had. Flavors of big pumpkin, clove, allspice, caramel, brown sugar, gingerbread, toast, cinnamon, nutmeg, and herbal spice earthiness. Light balancing herbal/spice bitterness against sweetness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; bready malt creaminess and light spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly drying spice finish, no astringency. This is probably the most authentic actual pumpkin-fruit forward beer I have had, with an amazing balance of spices. Love it just as much as Pumking; but this has more malt/pumpkin sweetness, and less intensely drying spice/seedy pumpkin presence. Top tier stuff for the style. Oddly only available at Meijers this year, but whatever. As long as I can still find it, I'll buy it. Will get another pack soon. Fresh Pumking is gone, but at least Warlock is still around.

    From a new local . . .

Distinctive light gold color with white cap and lacing.

Mild scent of rich yet dryish malt with floral, spicy hops.

Taste upfront is about equal hop sharpness with rich malt yet that same sense of dryness. Curious about that I looked up the website to find there is rye malt in the mix. Ah, that explains things, rich malt with a spicy rye kick. In this brew the combination works with the diverse grain flavors blending well together and just enough firm hop kick to keep things in balance. Simple flavors in harmony, clean all the way to the finish with a bit of hop firmness at the end that concludes things nicely.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

This is a solid stab at the classic Pilsner style. A somewhat unconventional approach in the grain bill that results in a beer that is more balanced than the approach some brewers take when they add American hops resulting in more of an IPL than a Pilsner.

Cold crisp day out there people.
Got a bit more snow this morning as well.
Just a nice dusting nothing crazy. Yet...

Thanks to @The-Adjunct-Hippie for supplying the morning juice today.
Simply love scotch ales, especially when barrel aged.

So far these White Elm beers you sent have been surprising me. Really really enjoyed Fluffaluffagus, simply amazing!

Perfect for a cold weather morning.
    Thanks!
