Amazing IPA as always. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, apricot, mango, citrus peel/rind, pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey, toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready malt and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very drinkable and not overly aggressive. Even with the new hops they added for the 1.1 version, it still tastes like the original Chinook/Centennial hop profile the most. Perfectly balanced juicy and dank hop complexity; with a nice solid malt backbone. A true classic IPA. Pretty much just as impressive as the first time I reviewed it over 6 years ago. A lot easier to find fresh recently, I'll keep buying them. Price is hard to beat for 16 oz cans, same with the Arrogant Bastard. Need to get another pack.

Mind blowing! Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, fudge, toffee, vanilla, molasses, cinnamon, clove, rum, oak, toasted coconut, chili pepper, and light dark fruit/char. Light roast/char bitterness and rum/oak/pepper spiciness on the finish. Very full bodied with a perfectly creamy, silky, velvety, rich mouthfeel; with slight slickness, sticky spice, and chalky roast notes. Lightly increasing lingering pepper heat. Mild roast/spice dryness, never cloying. Mildly warming 15%, never boozy. Dangerously smooth sipper. This one has a bit more pepper presence than BA Bomb, but is still insanely balanced between rich malts, spices, and rum barrels. Glad I was able to get more than 1 this year. One of their top stouts for sure. World class stuff. Definitely the best rum barrel aged beer ever made. Most that I've had feel too boozy.

I enjoyed this stout so much yesterday that I decided to substitute my second coffee with this beauty . Arthritis is crushing my neck and shoulders , so I figured why not a 12.1 abv to start the day ..

    CHEERS GANG !

Still tasting fantastic, last bottle. Aromas and flavors of huge mango, melon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, guava, berry, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey and spicy rye bread malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Good sized pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied with balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resin/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin/rind dryness, minimal hop astringency. Very mildly warming ABV, dangerously smooth. Insane dankness across the board. This is basically just imperial Born Yesterday IMO, very similar if not the same hops. Ekuanot, Galaxy, Simcoe, and Mosaic was the first batch, probably similar here. This has all of the same dankness at a much higher ABV, while remaining well attenuated and not overly sweet for over 11.3%. Mosaic and Ekuanot are my favorite hops.

Amazing as usual. Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, vanilla, fudge brownie, whiskey, toasted oak, and dark bread; with light notes of coconut, marshmallow, licorice, raisin, plum, smoke, char, leather, and tobacco. Touch of booze in the aromas as it warmed, but not overwhelming. Mild roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light carbonation and full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Slight slickness, chalky roast, oak tannins, and increasing dryness. No cloying/acrid flavors. Super smooth sipping, mildly increasing warmth of 9.4%, no barrel booze. Amazingly rich well rounded imperial stout malt complexity, with perfect barrel integration. Not overly bitter, charred, or tannic. Glad to have this as shelf beer now, will get another eventually. Got some new Hopping Frog BA stuff yesterday to review as well.

[IMG] This stuff is no joke! Wow and tomorrow late morning we head back to NH in our GMC Acadia so today I shall drink and get prepared for the long journey home. Kids 9,8, and 6 so it will be interesting to see if they hold up as well going back as they did coming down. Cheers and will see you often today.

Good morning BAs! Finishing last night’s closer this am - CCB’s Marshal Zhukov’s Russian Imperial Stout (2018):

Still tasting fine this chilly 23 degrees morning. I plan on disgorging the RV of my old band gear, guitars, and home brewing stuff today; then relax and drink some new beers I picked up in North Carolina on Friday.

    Have a great Sunday y’all!

One of my top favorite pales ales since BP entered the state. Aromas and flavors of big pineapple, peach, pear, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, melon, passion fruit, berries, lemon zest, orange peel/rind, mint, onion, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate toasted bread, light caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and moderately crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts, and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Some resins/rinds, moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Fantastically bright, and fairly dank/earthy Mosaic/Calypso hop complexity; nice malt backbone for the ABV, with no residual sweetness from crisp resin dryness. I love this stuff so much. So drinkable. Wish it didn't move to seasonal status. I used to buy this really often when it had better availability.

My main go-to fruit beer. Flavors of big juicy sweet/tart raspberries and fruit skin/seeds; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuity malt balance; and some light herbal, grassy, spicy hop earthiness. Fair amount of fruit tang/tartness and light herbal/grassy/spicy hop bitterness on the finish. Balanced bready/grainy wheat creaminess and fruit tang/acidity in the mouthfeel. Fairly crisp with light-moderate acidic/tangy/bitter dryness. No pucker/astringency. Always amazing, so refreshing. Glad this is year round, and in cans now. Will always keep it around. Looking forward to return of Blushing Monk, which is the imperial Belgian version of this one. Will definitely buy a case.

Wow. I respect your opinion, and I thought that your beer this morning was the best peanut butter stout I’ve had to date and well worth the $11.95 I paid in Florida  Cheers brother!

Amazing so fluffy for being so big and full bodied. That yeast is really something. Not a spicy yeast but a lot of sweet banana and clean grains. Happy I finally picked it up. Worth the price. Cheers

    This is Bob...
Clearly Bob is so fucking metal, with wolves and alcohol and attitude...

After my last post last night, watched The Spy Who Dumped Me with the missus...

Some critics were critical (lol) of the violence in the film, but I think violence and comedy go fine together (Deadpool, anyone?), and we both dug the flick - a couple of implausibilities, sure, but nothing egregious... Plus, Mila Kunis... :sunglasses:

So, yeah, but anyway, metal Bob for some reason made me think of dead Hank...

Keep yer shirts on, BA, and hold a beer up for our veterans!

And always honor those who served...
    Happy Veterans Day, cheers...
