I think Double Stack is absolutely disgusting but Ripe and Juice Box are very nice beers.

GN has some awesome beers and I’ve had beers there that taste like something my wife bought at Bath and Bodyworks. That being said, I do appreciate their willingness to experiment and take chances, it’s one of things that keeps me going back.

Anyone who gets BooBerry cans or Double Stack variants, I’ll gladly trade you for Monkish since you guys don’t think GN is that great. lol

I wasn't aware that there are/were any Double Stack variants. What one's have you had that you liked?

Sorry meant Double Fudge but I had heard Double Fudge was just a variant of Double Stack

Wow tough crowd in here. I finally finished up a few GN brews my sis brought back to me from a trip North.

Full Grown - terrific hazy Imperial IPA, certainly up there amongst the top of the style I've had.

Momojito, Pineapple Skies, Passionate IPA, & Mango Coconut Mochis - all of these were really great wacky experimental IPAs that I thought nailed what they were trying to do.

Overall some tasty stuff, I'm impressed, certainly no misses.

Time for the weekly Friday update:

Let’s get into these 3 notions so u can get back to crushing your Friday:

    1. All the Stars Can Drop 11-10-18: For those that never tried a Brut IPA, you should try this one. For those that tried one but weren’t feeling it, you should try this one as well! We collaborated with our friends and NW neighbors, Boedecker Cellars and fermented this champagne-like ale on Boedecker’s delicious chardonnay grape must. $20/4-pack
    2. Double Fudge Coconut Brownie Can Drop 11-10-18: DFCB is a rich and decadent Imperial Stout fermented with buckets of gooey brownie batter, conditioned on raw dark chocolate from Ecuador, and packaged through a humongous sack of toasted coconut from Bob’s Red Mill.
    3. Seattle: What’s up y’all Washingtonians? Head over to Chuck’s Hop Shop, either Greenwood or Central District this weekend to pick-up a beer we collaborated with Chuck himself on, Chuck’s Notion. We sent up a ton of kegs and 350 cases of beer! Then, on Tuesday night the 13th, come to Brouwer’s and party with us for a GNB tap takeover. We sent up a bunch of great beers, including the Homecoming collaboration with Other Half and also Double Fudge Coconut Brownie! After that, on Wednesday night the 14th, come chill with the GNB team at both Chuck’s locations for tap takeovers at both spots with special beers. Not sure which one we’ll visit first, but we
will be hitting both locations that night!
Peace, love and have an amazing weekend!!!

As of Thursday Night (5 days later), still cans of Chuck's Notion available. Assume it's either:
    • price issue or
    • variety of hazy's in the Seattle area
Regardless, this is a damn fine beer that surely required little effort on Chuck's part.

In regards to Great Notions dark beer offerings lately.......maybe a little too sweet and syrupy for some (me included). But hey, tons of people love Great Notion's sugar bombs. Hard to dispute their rapid success.

That's a lot of beer to move through 2 retail locations, too.

$23 for a 4-pack (tax included) kept me buying only one. It's a fantastic beer, though. Much better than the other hazy IPA that was released that weekend. This batch of Spirit Crusher isn't all that hot.

That's 10 grand worth of beer to sell in a market flooded with options, at only 2 stores. And it's been less than a week.

I'm sure it will do more than well enough for it to be a win for Chucks and GN; but probably gonna take those interested double and triple dipping to sell out in the next couple of weeks.

    It's almost $50k. 2,100 4pks x $23 each (per @distantmantra ) = $48,300

I do wonder what the economics are on these can releases; the lack of distribution for now must be increasing their profit marging a lot. I'm guessing they are maybe working on paying back the cost of the new facility before they go the route of selling wholesale?

Not that there aren't already quite a few black market "resellers" lol. Paying $22 a pop to charge anywhere from $40-100 a 4 pack depending on the release, for beers often released with no limits. Nice gig :slight_frown:

I've been known to drop some coin on the occasional lambic or BA imperial stout, but the thought of paying $25 for a pint can of IPA or non-BA stout is fucking mind boggling to me.

Then you should never ever ever EVER look at what people have paid for a can of Treehouse's Juice Machine.

I did a quick search of fleabay and found a can of Juice Machine listed for $85. Canned a little over five months ago.

Pint cans are the new bombers.
