The Half-Acre thread (2018)

Having just moved here from LA in the summer, I got to say that the Chicago beer scene is wild. Benthic is for sure a good beer, but taking off work to wait outside for 4+ hours for a good BA stout is a bit much. Even though Wednesday was sheer madness, it would be nice to see more breweries here move to online sales and/or beer memberships. I cant begin to describe how much i miss speed-clicking to get bottle logic releases or the 3-month pickup window for modern times member releases.

 

just got here. guy not working work for half acre was numbering people. according to him I'm 158

 

I would love to see more memberships offered. They do seem quite popular in California relative to other regions.

Well said, buddy. I was lucky enough to score a presale bundle and if not, there's no way I was going there today to wait; and I accepted that before even trying to enter. Conversely, I entered the Karma, Mehndi, Prop Day (and a host of others) and came up empty handed. That's the breaks. If you want the beer that badly, then get off your a$$ and stand outside like the rest of the people or trade for it. But complaining about the system they used isn't constructive and only helps fuel the secondary market value of the beer.

Yes this is what's occurring. I've so seen people literally yell go get your number then come up here...the beer community is now policing itself.
