    Another day another thread. What beers are you guys and gals drinking today?



    This is Bowl Cut from Invasive Species Brewing and is a Citra dry-hopped sour pale ale.

    Wasn't sure what to expect given the wide range of reviews, but this is an absolute bargain at $2/500mL bottle. I really enjoyed it and the price was just a bonus. Cheers all!

    I am drinking Recursion IPA from Bottle Logic, California, ABV 6.50%. I think it is a very good westcoast IPA. It is fruity, tangerine, perhaps some mango, lime, ending in a modest piney bitterness. It has a nice floral and citrusy aroma. It may not be for hop heads but it is nonetheless a very good IPA.

    Rich amber gold color with lasting cap and lacing.

    Aroma of sweet caramel toasted malt.

    Taste is malt forward with a depth of malt richness. It maintains a sense of dryness while remaining rich with a toasty malt character at it's base.

    Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

    This is what I think of as classic Oktoberfest with it's malt forward approach which it maintains from start to finish with just enough hop presence to keep things in balance. Enough balance to match food and something I'm comfortable offering any guest.

    The streak of amazing local beers had to end sometime I suppose...I don't know what I was expecting with this one, but it did not remind me of any Cream Ale that I've had and was almost indistinguishable from an AAL. Nevertheless, it wet my whistle and didn't taste terrible doing it.

    First snow seemed an appropriate occasion to have my first Celebration of the year. Actually, I’m not sure when I last had one of these. Pretty tasty and a definite nostalgia factor.

    Probably will be back out in the snow soon as my son is dying to play in it some more after making a snowman with me this morning.
