Well, it is after 6 AM Eastern, and while I am just finishing last night's beer, I will continue on because it's the last weekend before all hell breaks loose at work. Apparently I live for retail customer service and punishment. Anyway, the only other time I had a Big Bad Baptist, it was a big bad batch. So I have to say that when it isn't spoiled, it is one damn amazing beer.

Since I'm still up and in the mood to drink, might as well start today's thread. Going to cleanse my palate with the one fresh hop beer that I can count on year after year.

These guys have made so many amazing songs, but I think that this might be my favorite. Happy Saturday, virtual bar brethren.

Today is going to be an amazing day! To get things going, I am drinking this delicious beer from @Danmullens1! I hung onto this one for a couple months, but it is still very juicy and flavorful! Thank you, sir!

Fantastic DIPA. Super fresh. Aromas and flavors of huge red grapefruit, mandarin orange, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malt and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds, light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Super smooth, not aggressive, minimal warming 8.5%. Amazing Mosaic, Citra, Simcoe profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; great bready malt backbone, not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Best of the series I've had so far. Too bad it is the last one.

2013 vintage. This was insane as expected. Aromas and flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, toffee, vanilla, biscuit, nuttiness, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark bread; with light notes of licorice, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, leather, and tobacco. Very mild roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Light carbonation and full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Slight slickness, chalky roast, and oak tannins. Mild increasing warmth of 11%, no barrel booze. Insanely smooth sipper. This is even better than I remember more recent batches. It just gets better with age. Insanely rich/silky malts with perfect barrel integration. I got a handful of vintages a few weeks ago from a friend. World class RIS all the time. I prefer the base beer over a year old, just gets better after that.

Bought my first concert tickets in over 5 years on Thursday night. 8th row at the Fillmore for the 20th anniversary SFAM tour. This will clearly be the best show I ever see. SFAM in entirety, plus probably 2-3 more hours of the rest of their albums. CAN'T WAIT. Wonder what song the instrumental jam will be.

    Here we go . . .

Clear light gold color with good cap and lacing.

Aromas of mild grain and floral, herbal, spicy hops with a touch of resin.

Taste is hop forward which is not surprising as the label clearly states its a "hoppy wheat lager" and the grain follows behind by several steps. Hop flavors lean toward the citrus side with herbal and spicy elements accenting that. Rather nice, fairly complex and well integrated hop flavors but hops are emphasized.

Solid medium texture with balancing carbonation.

A striking brew with more room presence than the usual lightweight wheaters.

4 year old bottle. Fantastic Braggot. Aromas and flavors of huge caramel, brown sugar, honey, molasses, toffee, raisin, plum, prune, fig, date, pear, apricot, apple, and toasted biscuit; with light notes of chocolate, nuts, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/grassy bitterness and slight honey tartness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; very creamy, slick malts; light syrupy and sticky hops. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/acidic honey dryness, no cloying sweetness. Minimal warming 12.8%, no booze. Just as impressive as I remember when I reviewed the 2011 in 2013. Perfectly balanced rich malts and fruity honey/yeast complexity; with just enough earthy hops to balance sweetness. Dangerously smooth sipper. A rare style more breweries need to make, because I love mead. Will have to make one myself eventually.

Amazing NEIPA as always. Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with wheat, biscuit, white bread dough, light honey malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, grassy, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; bready/grainy wheat/oat creaminess and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very dank and juicy hops, with perfect malt balance. Never overly sweet/heavy, awesome soft mouthfeel. Super easy drinking. Glad to have this as a year round available beer. This is one of my top most purchased beers ever at the moment. It just doesn't get any better for the style vs availability. Every Old Nation NEIPA is better than most anything else I've had in the state.

I'm pairing this delicious IPA with oatmeal and venison sausage. It's the real official breakfast of Wisconsin. None of that fruityfish stuff @GreenBayBA. Hopefully my Boilers don't repeat last week's trainwreck and it's actually a game. Cheers all!

My go-to Fall brown ale, always excellent. Aromas and flavors of caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, toffee; and lighter chocolate, cocoa, and nutty malts; with some herbal, grassy, peppery, citrusy hops. Touch of dark fruit. Light herbal, grassy, spicy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied with a really great creamy/bready mouthfeel. Light hop stickiness, chalky roast, and increasing dryness. Touch silky. No cloying/astringency. Really great malt complexity and mouthfeel; and not as hoppy or drying as most American Browns. Has a bit of an English brown feel to it as well. Great balance. I had to revisit my review a couple years ago. Much more impressive than I remembered initially; but all style appreciation levels have come into proper alignment. Been buying all cans when possible lately. Already got another 4 pack.

Always amazing. Flavors of big grapefruit, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, and piney hops; with balancing sweetness of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, toasted biscuit, and light nutty/chocolate malts; some light raisin/fig dark fruits and herbal/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, peppery hop bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; balanced bready creaminess and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Increasingly drying, but never astringent on resins. Really awesome balance and complexity. Classic American strong ale, all Chinook hops. I rewrote the review recently, and it's pretty much just as impressive as I remember when I reviewed it over 6 years ago. Have be keeping this and Stone IPA around more lately, far easier to find fresh now in the cans. 2 of the best classic American style beers ever IMO.
