Printers Row Wine posted they got it yesterday, called as soon as I got off work to see if they still had it, and it was gone within an hour.
Hope I can grab one somewhere else, never had Benthic before.

 

Just grabbed a bottle of Benthic at Oak Brook Binny's after an off-site work meeting down the street - yay, timing! One or two on the shelf, few more in back. Cheers!

Nah, I don't shop at Prestige, although I've heard stories there too.

In fairness to Printers Row, they may have stopped doing that; the last time I bought beer from them it was for BA Malevolence Caliente, and they made me buy a Spiteful bomber. No big deal, but they also made me buy a bomber of FFF when I wanted a bottle of Permanent Funeral.

Me either. Had a buddy tell me that they wouldn't let you buy a BCBS variant unless you bought a 6'er of 312 with each one.

Never shopped there for that reason.

 

I probably wouldn't shop there again, but if I was there, and the variants were around MSRP, I could justify one sixer of 312 for a Prop. The 312 would be a Christmas beer for the family.

 

Maybe you should be boycotting Goose since they do that to the retailers.

 

Huh? So like 3 shops actually do this... and every other Jewel or Binny's or bottle shop in the state doesn't, and I should boycott GI because "they do that to the retailers." ???

Yeah, it's kind of fucked up (although not illogical) that GI is now doing exactly what ABInBev used to in that space (I'm reading Josh Noel's book, so it's quick to mind).

But that's a story for another thread.

 

I've always heard that they distribute BCBS largely based upon sales of other Goose Island beers. For some reason I remember it being Sofie, but maybe it's 312? Seems silly to not do it based upon total GI sales, instead of focusing on just one beer.
