Chicago BA here. Going to be spending some time in Denver this weekend. Planned on going to Trve, Four Noses and Crooked Stave. Wish I had time for Weldwerks but what can you do. I was wondering what’s going on I should be aware of.

Typically drink NEIPAs, BA stouts and those fruited milkshakes that are popping up, but totally good for a good sour/wild program, too. Just looking for tips or things I should really try while in town. Releases, etc.

Sorry if this is a repost. If you’re visiting Chicago HMU and I’ll steer you the right way. Cheers guys.:beers:

Black Project is worth a look as well. If you want to get a wide range of sours etc Goed Zuur is a restaurant with a tap list that never disappoints. Falling Rock downtown will have a little of everything. Former Chicago+Milwaukee BA. Stay away from our BCS stash ; )

Should skip everything else and go to Weldwerks.

If you hit TRVE, and you like good sours also hit Baere — it's across the street and north by a few blocks. I'd also probably hit Cerebral for your IPA needs.

You also could go north another block or so to Banded Oak who is tapping the last keg of their GABF gold medal winning Drunkard's Cloak tomorrow.

Epic's NE IPA's are sleeper hits and available in just about any store in town. They also currently have several Big Bad Baptist variants including the new Quadruple barrel version. If you make it to Crooked Stave, their brewery isn't far from there.
TRVE is definitely a good choice. Weldwerks cans should be available in many stores, but it's a little bit of a crapshoot which ones you'll encounter. They tend to sell fast enough that none will be old, though. If you don't know what's in the can, there's a good chance it'll taste just like the description.

Thank you for not asking about Bourbon County releases

If you're heading to the mountains at all, get all of your NEIPA needs handled at Outer Range.

    Weldwerks, Cerebral

    Weldwerks, Cerebral, Epic, Dry Dock

Weldwerks by a longshot. Wily Roots, 4 Noses, and New Image a distant 2nd

Crooked Stave and Black Project. I hear good things about Baere. I'm not a big TRVE guy.

This is why I said you should go to WW. Last time I was there, they had 30 beers on tap. 3 achromatics, 2 medianoches, 2 milkshakes, a bunch of stuff.

Yup. They have beer that tastes like beer. But I think they add some beer to it...in the boil. :smirk:

I cant get the idea out of my head that baere is in the old Easton BJJ location. I know how many staph infections were acquired there.

Last time I was there I met one of the co-owners, and he told me before opening Baere he worked for the city health department, so now you and I can both rest easy during subsequent visits.

I take it you're one of those people who travels with disinfectant wipes and sanitizing spray everywhere you go? Maybe we can get them to make a collaboration beer with a company/product like Dr. Bronner's Organic sanitizer spray to quell your fears.

In all seriousness, if you have not been, beers are really good (and brewery is very clean).

I will never get the idea out of my head about cross contamination there, especially knowing they don't do "clean" beer to begin with.
