Wow, that Pastry Program #2 is no joke. Definitely more decadent compared to #1. Fuller mouthfeel too. Can't wait to share this on Thanksgiving.

    Do
Doesn't Cellarmaker recommend 10 days TOPS, to sit on any crowler they fill?

Actually for their Pastry Program crowlers, I think the sticker says 14 days. (My wife took it with her, so don't have it in front of me at work.)

But someone also asked CM on IG about whether it'd keep to Thanksgiving, and they responded with their 2-week recommendation, but also acknowledged it shouldn't lose much going on 3 weeks.

Either way, I got to try it on tap day one so I'm happy.

I asked Connor about the opening of Location 2 in Old Bus Tavern's space and he said it comes down to the City of San Francisco, going through the paperwork, etc. So it could be weeks or months.

Very chill release today that I was able to quickly stop by. There's been so much great beer released lately that after trying tasters of both these canned beers I actually left without any 4 Packs. Mo Nelson was a very solid West Coast single IPA, but didn't quite pop as much as the other Nelson releases I've had lately. Murkers Comp was also good, but at 8.5% I just didn't think it was worth it. Especially with 38 Miles and a new Alvarado 8% DIPA collab coming out this week. And if I want an 8.5 dipa, Electric Lettuce possibly getting distrto this week is the one I'd go for.

While these are both very solid beers I'd order at a bar/restaurant, I just didn't think they were quite "can worthy" with all of the competition iou there.

Question my friend and I had while there: Have they ever canned Orange Julian? That would be a definite winner!

I decided to pass on this release, but would love to have Mo Nelson on tap at some point. Anyone know if they're gonna do BA Vastness again this year?

Sooner than you think? Latest cellarmaker insta story are those vastness bottles with the caption "Something sticky is coming".. So, gotta be a stout methinks.

So I'm not a dark beer guy AT ALL. But I try any stouts and other styles that my friend recommends knowing I don't love the coffee flavor that pops up in many. There's been a few over the years that I could sip and slowly enjoy. I'm (obviously) the furthest thing from an expert on the store, but holy shit the Pastry Program #2 was amazing.

I'm assuming Imperial Milk/Pastry Stouts on that level don't come about very often, but what do I know? If anyone has suggestions of accessible ones with the chocolate, vanilla bean, coconut combo let me know lol

If you make it over to LA at all, you can time your trips with pickups for Modern Times orders.

In for my annual Thanksgiving growler run.

Having the just-released IC&C as a pour. As a coffee enthusiast, I always enjoy this one fresh as those notes are so in-your-face, and this one is no different.

This batch clocks in at 12% and is hilariously more potent than their also just tapped BBA Vastness. Luckily, to my senses, it doesn't taste any boozy than their 10ish% batches. I'm sure I'll be feeling those extra ABVs when I get back to the office to finish off my day LOL

"We are also trying to release a third beer, but it might not be ready in time. More details to come!"

Your guess is as good as mine!
