I've lived in states that have been worse. The NE Portland Costco is my usual stop, but I've heard Tigard can have a better selection. Basically they have probably 20 or so bombers, but it seems like over half of them never change. There's usually at least 1 interesting bottle (Velvet Merkin, something from Cascade, etc.). I only go to Costco once every couple months so if they get more limited stuff that sells within a few days, I would likely never see it. I'd say the NE Costco has a better wine selection than beer. I've seen pictures of insane Costco beer selections in some of the California Costcos and it's nothing like that.

The bomber selection is primarily Portland/Oregon breweries, which is nice. I don't really go to Costco specifically to buy beer, but I always manage to find a few things to throw in the cart along with 15 pounds of cheese and enough mayo to kill a horse.

edit: sounds like the Portland experience is pretty similar to @sharpski's Bend experience

Most of my Costco visits yield nothing special, either. An hour ago though, I was near the end of the beer aisle expecting a fruitless visit, until I saw a single case of Fremont Head Full of Dynamite (canned a week and a half ago). I got two four-packs at $11.69 each, leaving some for others, and hopefully leaving with a little beer karma, as some beer nerd must've just earned himself by not swiping up the rest of it and saving some for me.

Not sure if has been mentioned, but at least out here in Spokaloo, the selection of beers at Winco has gotten pretty interesting lately. The wife in her last couple visits has been coming back with each of the Spice Wars variants:astonished:

Or, just another sign that good beer is now the norm, and we should expect to see it everywhere.

So you think it's a bad thing that such a beer is available at Winco?

    I don't.

Then again, I shop at Winco every week.

Was at Belmont on Friday and they had a vertical of Abyss from 2008-2014, along with the 2018. Was tempted, but the old versions were $30 a piece and I still had a Great Notion can release to attend the next day.
