This is tasting amazing after 3 years. Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, licorice, raisin, prune, fig, leather, tobacco, and light smoke/charred malt; with some mild herbal/piney hops and yeast earthiness. Bittersweet roasted balanced finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body. Amazing creamy, silky, velvety, and lush full body. Slightly increasing sticky hop, chalky roasted dryness. No cloying/astringency. Minimal warming 11%. I can only hope they bring this beer back in one form or another. This does have a lot of similarities to Expedition in flavors; but it has more of a sweeter and less drying roast/char finish. Even more intense on the licorice/dark fruit complexity with the age as expected.

4/8/2016. Fantastic as usual. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, brown sugar, and lightly toasted bread malts; with herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; balanced creamy/slick malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slight resins. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter/spicy alcohol dryness. No cloying/astringent flavors. Dangerously smooth, minimal warming ABV. Just as outstanding as when I revisited the review a few years ago. More recent batches have been better with age then I remember previously(the first time I had it). The Amarillo/Simcoe hop character is very well retained, and it is not overly sweet/heavy on malt character considering the ABV. I buy this every single year for good reason.

    Cheers, have a great holiday.

My apple pie is done. Time for coffee - BA Victory At Sea (2017):

I won’t start the turkey until about noon. I’m sharing cooking duties with our neighbor, so other than stuffing the bird, I just have the green bean casserole to make today. Have a Happy Thanksgiving y’all!

Incredible NEDIPA. Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart/tangy pineapple, orange juice, guava, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough, light honey malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/silky/bready malts; slight sticky hops and fruit tang/acidity in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/tangy dryness; no cloying/astringency. Touch of lingering spicy alcohol. Insanely smooth/soft, mildly increasing warmth of 8.6%. Amazing Mosaic/Citra profile as expected. Extremely juicy hops/fruit, with slight dankness; perfect wheat/oat/malt balance. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Another easy winner, been a huge fan of pretty much everything they have been doing.

Fantastic. Flavors of big milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of coffee, molasses, licorice, raisin, plum, fig, cherry, date, apricot, apple, and yeast earthiness. Similar aromas, a bit more fruity; bit of booze as it warmed, but not overwhelming. Light herbal/roast bitterness and yeast/bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; balanced creamy/bready/silky malts and bourbon/oak tannins in the mouthfeel; light sticky hops and chalky roast. Light-moderate increasing lingering bitter/spicy/tannic dryness. Dangerously smooth, lightly increasing warmth of 13.7%, with mild barrel booze after the finish. Really outstanding rich malt complexity and barrel integration/balance. Stout flavors are more prominent, with the Quad/yeast character notes coming in the background. Boulevard BA beers are always impressive. Hope they make it again.

Good morning and happy turkey day, BAs! Today is starting the same as yesterday but colder. Got no appointments or shopping obligations today - just kicking back at my brother-in-law's to let the turkey toxin lull me to sleep through the mandatory feetball games. Being an anti-social bastard, I may even get some reading done while sitting in the car. Anyway, today's New Breakfast Beer:

When I'm in TX, I always try to hit up World Market. They always have Ridgeway's Xmas beer and maybe an odd import we don't see in NW PA. Not to mention some unusual foodstuffs. Thanks, World Market, for constantly expanding my horizons! And to all my BA brethren out there, enjoy the day whether you mark turkey executions or not!

The wife and I are sharing a Double Shot by Treehouse, while prepping for Thanksgiving dinner, as we are hosting most of her family this year. The beer is fantastic, and my wife who is not much of a stout drinker is enjoying it as well!
Happy Thanksgiving folks! Enjoy the beer, football, food, and of course family on this terrific holiday!

Been up since 5:30 getting stuff ready, time for a break . . .

Color is a clear, light shade of gold with white cap and lacing.

Mild aroma of sweet malt with floral, spicy hops.

Flavor is straight forward clean malt that taste more dry than the scent implies. Evenly balanced with the malt are the hops which to me favor floral over spicy but there are enough of both to evenly round things out.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

This late Summer seasonal is a very pleasing Kolsch style that emphasizes malt and hops without other flavorings to change or enhance that profile. Low key but very drinkable.
