Fantastic. Aromas and flavors of big juicy strawberries, tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/zest, and light cinnamon/pepper/pine; with moderate maple syrup, brown sugar, biscuit dough malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, zesty, herbal, floral, grassy bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy, silky, bready malts; light sticky hops and fruit tang/acids in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tart/tangy dryness. No cloying sweetness. Super smooth/soft, minimal warming 8.6%. As usual, they nailed this. Perfect balance of juicy Citra hops, strawberries, maple syrup, and oats/malts; with mild cinnamon presence. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Tastes exactly like fruited french toast as an NEIPA. I have been loving pretty much everything from Decadent so far.

2017 is tasting amazing. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, caramel, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark bread; with light molasses and smoke. Very mild roasted bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Mild stickiness, chalky roast, oak tannins, and dryness. Minimal warming 11.8%, zero booze. Unbelievably smooth. Definitely better than it was fresh right now. Everything is perfectly balanced, and more silky smooth on feel.

good morning. Thanksgiving was largely a success. no BF rush for me today. earlier in the week, my guy at the grocer set aside a small box of stuff for me to pick up this weekend. interestingly, neither of the 2 local locations i'm familiar with that have historically held BF GI events are featuring GI this year. wonder if that's just a local coincidence or a trend beyond here? anyway. cheers to beers!

Awesome NEIPA. Aromas and flavors of huge apricot, peach, pear, pineapple, lemon, orange, grapefruit, passion fruit, papaya, mango, watermelon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, light peppercorn, and pine hops; with spicy rye, lightly toasted biscuit malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and rye spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/spicy dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 8.6%. Feels like Azacca/El Dorado. Tons of stone fruit/tropical notes. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; great rye/bready malt backbone, minimal residual sweetness from lingering dryness. Not as hazy or soft as expected, but still delicious.

Still tasting incredible. Flavors of huge milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, sea salt, marshmallow, toasted oak, nuttiness, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of coconut, coffee, molasses, bourbon, licorice, and dark fruit. Slight touch of booze in the aroma as it warmed. Very mild roast bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal chalky roast, oak tannins, or dryness. Zero cloying sweetness. Mildly increasing warmth of 11%, zero barrel booze. Dangerously smooth. Bourbon is pretty muted, but the barrel complexity of vanilla/toffee/coconut is all there. Very rich/complex, great balance of all flavors. Nothing overpowering, and not overly sweet/slick making this super smooth. One of the best variants, but they are all awesome anyways.

Good morning BAs! Well, the turkey toxin has cleared my system so it looks like another semi-productive day here in cold and gloomy NW PA. Yesterday, the sun was out while we were driving to Sharon - saw more sun then the last week in TX. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Or maybe I should call this "New Breakfast Coffee" since there is no hint of beer in my glass. This tastes like a very tasty, very drinkable, coffee.

Nothing on the docket today, BA. Fortunately we’re not Black Friday folks. Probably will just spend my day off from work chilling and getting some stuff done around the house.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving celebrations!

I'll make my first beer of the day decision presently. The stores will open soon and then I'll decide if I'm willing to venture out which is something I rarely do on Black Friday.

The hell with it, I'm staying home . . .

A muted brown color with slightly orange highlights.

Aroma of roasted coffee. Some burnt toffee as well but all that covers up the hop scent.

Taste of roasted malt/coffee with a clean finish. Brewer says this is brewed with Vermont Maple syrup and brown sugar but I can't tell if that means before fermentation or is added afterwards. I don't get much in the way of sweetness that those flavorings would add because this brew tastes and finishes rather dry. Columbus and Fuggle hops are used for an IBU of 58 but they're so over layered by the coffeeish malt if I'd been told the IBU was half that I wouldn't have argued.

Fat Orange Cat. Incredible NEIPA. Flavors of huge peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, tangerine, orange juice, ruby grapefruit, lemon, lime, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Similar aromas, a bit muted. Very mild pine, zesty, herbal, floral, grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/bready wheat/oats, and slight sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringency. Insanely smooth/soft, minimal warming 7.5%. Amazing Azacca/Idaho 7 profile. Extremely juicy and slightly dank hop complexity; perfectly balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone, not overly sweet from lingering dryness. Amazing style example, and their best I've had yet.

Outstanding stuff! Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin/pits, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, vanilla, toasted oak, nuttiness, and dark bread; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, raisin, prune, smoke, char, tobacco, and herbal hop. Light herbal/roast/char bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready, and rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Light slickness, sticky hops, chalky roast, fruit tang/acidity, and increasing dryness. No cloying/acrid flavors. Mildly increasing warmth of 9%, dangerously smooth sipping. Wow, was a huge fan for sure. Amazingly rich and well rounded imperial stout malt complexity; great balance of cherries, without being overwhelming. Nice oak presence, not overly tart or bitter. They really nailed this. Enjoyed this equally as much as the BBA version. Both still available on the shelf.

Happy Friday ba. Cold as shit here once again and I'm up and at it with another x-mas bomb. I really enjoy the spices in this one. I get a heavy cinnamon note that just seems to mix perfectly with the base stout,

This year old V@S is drinking great right now. A touch more vanilla than chocolate going on. Heading out in a little while to attempt to sell a vehicle then buy some BCBS. Hopefully I’ll be back later with a celebratory beer.
