Bourbon County 2018

Rolled out of bed at 430. Got dressed and to west loop jewel at about 445 am. Was about 48-50th in line. Was in the last handful or 2 of people who got reserve so they must have got 5 cases of reserve. Not sure how many cases of prop or nilla and when it ran out. Then 2 minute drive home. Back in bed at 745. So incredibly thrilled I decided against LP Binnys and got plenty of warm sleep instead before getting in line, especially when LP forced you to spend twice as much money buying all the filler you didn’t need.

 

Got to my local Binny's at 5:30, same time as last year. Was 50 something last year, 14th this year. Looks like demand is lower. Got everything but Reserve.

 

that was my understanding after 2015 or whatever year it was, so the 2018 will taste pretty much the same as 2020 etc.

 

Jewel at Des Plaines and Kinzie has all but Prop, Vanilla, and Reserve plus 2017 regular just sitting out on the floor. No limit. Carts filled with cases of variants flying out the door.

 

I think that kills bacteria but doesn’t necessarily stop flavors like banana or orange or chocolate from developing a bit .

 

Oxidation still happens.

 

Figures, the year I sit out the madness is the year it’s readily available, and now it’s probably too late.

 

I'm hoping we're slowly moving towards a world where this doesn't require lining up at all either way.

 

Is there a list of all the stores that receive BCBS somewhere?

My friend is at Binnys Glen Ellyn now. Just texted me asking why they are intentionally trying to piss people off.

Only two registers open and there are 5 employees gathered at the customer service desk just watching

 

Seems that is the case unless you want huge quantities and/or prop/reserve and all of the variants instead of just some. I live in central PA right now, got to a shop an hour before they opened, that wasn't even needed, as I could have gotten there 15 before and still been good, then hopped to another store. Total haul 6 regular, 3 vanilla, 1 orange. Could have easily gotten more regular, and another vanilla or two, but passed.

 

Smoothest beer release ever at Naperville Binnys. 10th in line and was in the car by 9:06 with a full allotment. They used preprinted invoices with the allotments and passed them out to the line.

 

Anyone at Downers Grove binnys? May check it out if anything is still available.

 

Super smooth eighth in line at 6:00, then in and out by 9:09 at the new Evanston Binny's, they did a great job!

 

Anyone know if lake Zurich has extra regular after everything went through?

This absolutely was the truth. They had another cashier for non BCBS purchases. They also had one case of Reserve because we were 15th in line and it was already gone. Still got everything else.
