Good luck. I was in line at LP Binny’s near 4 South Koreans - they flew in.

No mules here. All but 6 bottles were for my wife and I, the other 6 were for friends. Only trade we've made was '18 Reserve for '17 reserve, so we can keep a vert going for the future.

Some people actually 1) Love this beer and 2) love to travel to the city each year for a vacation. Sorry you live in a place people actually want to visit.

Your jestful post is even funnier in that Chicagoans are literally the last people who should complain about out-of-towners invading their breweries to buy "their" beer

So If I have this correct, she looped back for another ticket before you guys even made it through the line to buy your allotment?

I'm not judging. 73 bottles at a release is perfectly normal.....

When it's your only trip of the year to buy your favorite beer, one that you then get to enjoy the entire rest of the year, along with keeping some to age for verts, yeah it's really not that crazy.

Yes, though I doubt that will ever happen again in the future. It was just the luck of where we were in line, knowing that so many tickets were still available when we were about to go from the parking lot, into the side of the building.

Again, especially since I've posted it here, I doubt they would allow it to happen in the future, but even with that, it was complete luck in the first place. There were still 15 spots after her second ticket and again, those 15 didn't get filled until almost and hour and a half AFTER open.

While agreeing that the post was in jest, after seeing so many people at Prop Day and Black Friday from Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio, I would probably have to disagree with your comment.

I'll be nice and simply say that I don't support this behavior, like at all, especially at LP on BF.

And the people of Decorah, IA, Amherst, WI, St. Louis, MO, Grand Rapids, MI, Bridgeman MI, etc, all love when us FIBs floss through their cities to grab beer and GTFO.

Missed jusssst a few points there lol. You guys don't know my wife, so I'll chalk it up to that.

She bought more bottles than I did this year. She bought 2 cases of '16 BW on last year's trip because it's her all time favorite BW. I proposed to her over a bottle of '15 rare. I didn't drag her anywhere.

Decorah...people from all over the country/world go to TG events. That can hardly be pinpointed to Chicago/Illinois
Amherst...never been up to CW, but it does sound like a decent amount of people head up there
St. Louis...assuming we're talking Side Project...it does sound like quite a few people from Chicago were there last weekend as well
Grand Rapids...as much as I love Founders, I don't think there are special releases/events there such as a TG or SP release
Bridgman...that's practically a suburb of Chicago  (that is in jest yet also serious - SW MI as a whole thrives off Chicago)

You can add up all those, and I still don't think it would hold a candle to people coming in for Black Friday. Also, remember that Chicago is the largest city population-wise for about 800 miles, so it stands to reason that there will indeed be more people from Chicago at a big St. Louis release than there are people from St. Louis at a big Chicago release. But, that's just my opinion that folks from Chicago get a bad rap of going to get other areas beer.

Because they're in a similar situation like OP where he was originally in Chicago for a family Thanksgiving?

There are certainly people here visiting family, but there are also a ton of people just here for Bourbon County. I just think that percentage-wise, less people from Chicago are going other places than there are coming here. Just my 2 cents.
