Picked this up for $8.79 due to a mislabel. Digging it.

Coming from someone who has smoked a few more than 5 times, I thought the same thing when I first tried it.

Finishing up with this little treat from CCB. Not too shabby at all.

Started with an Ipswich Dark Ale, great brown ale.

Then cracked open my first ever All grain homebrew!!!!!!!!!! An IPA with Centennial and Citra Hops, pretty sessionable. Super Tropical fruity, mango, pineapple, mango, passion fruit boyaaa!. homebrew ftw!! Came out pretty good overall, efficiency/OG could have been better but for round 1 I'll take it.

    Now a Sam Adams Oktoberfest.

some tequila-> meet my friends at bar.

    Happy friday.

After saying goodbye to a really good guy at Buzz Beer & Wine in DTLA that's turned us on to a lot of beers, and tasting Xantus 2012, Little Lady and I came home to continue on our 16 Nights of Firestone Walker tasting, with this, night #12, which is only fitting given the Xantus component, 14th Anniversary Ale:

    Thoughts on this blend...

This is maybe my 7th time having this particular blend. It's really really good. Quite different from the 16 & 15, the DDBA definitely carries through in this one, and the Parabola/Xantus combo is killer. The Stickee Monkee lends just the right amount of sweetness to counter balance. These blenders definitely know what they're doing.

    Cheers!

Made it home from work and winding down with a Backwoods Bastard. I think it's working.

My friend was kind enough to share some of his Cigar City stash. Had a Maduro Brown and a Jai Alai while homebrewing an American rye stout.

I have been keeping an eye out for the last few weeks knowing they give a vague "Early November" release date. Today was the first day they had it at my local store. In fact, I had to ask because there was none on the floor yet. The owner brought me a case from he back (just arrived today). FYI it hasn't reached my Whole Foods yet (Glen Mills). It is drinking awesome as always.

Couple new arrivals at work. Looks like New Belgium sixers have arrived in SE Michigan.

Had a celebration earlier, now onto New Belgium Abbey Ale. Have only had a handful of Dubbels before, not as good as the Westmalle I had the other day, but still pretty tasty.

Great pairing. You can just feel Le Faro's presence in that piece, too, but he never oversteps his bounds. Elegance and tension, matched perfectly by the beer.
