I'm planning a beer with a 100% wheat malt grist. If anyone has done that with a traditional mash (not BIAB), how much rice hull did you use per pound of wheat malt? TIA.

In 2014 I brewed a Grodziskie using 7 lbs. of Weyermann Smoked Wheat Malt and ½ lb. of rice hulls. My lauter tun has a convex plastic false bottom. This proportion of wheat malt to rice hulls worked for me.

I do not know if this is pertinent to the fly sparge but I conducted a step mash: Acid rest (100 degrees F), Protein rest (125 degrees F) and I mashed at 153 degrees F,

    Cheers!

I’d say just use a full pound. Mainly because it won’t effect flavor and will make your whole day easier and it’s not like they are expensive.
