I was amazed by how many people were walking out with full allotments. Either these people drink too much or they're muling for friends.

Well it truly is just like the old Juicy releases then because that's the same thing that happened back in the old days except maybe multiple cases rather than just 1

Honestly, there's not much in the latest era of beer that irks me that much. I may be disappointed in missing a lotto or paying a lot or having to stand in line, but whatever. It's what happens when limited shit gets popular. But man am I tired of seeing people get cases and cases of stuff. It's just so anathema to how I enjoy beer I'll never get it. Oh well, probably just salty because I missed out.

Agreed. I was very happy with 2 four packs. I'm going to want to try a different beer in a few weeks so i don't stock up.

We asked 100 people in line at More the reason for lining up for the beer release today.

    Survey says:

    1. For the Profitzzz (57)
    2. In line as a mule (21)
    3. Purchasing to split with friends (14)
    4. Personal Consumption (8)

I like to think they're all buying extra to share and enjoy with friends. Unless theres an obvious reason not to, I feel better about the world when I try to see people's acts coming from a place of good intentions (even if they probably aren't).

still don't get the hype for their IPA's outside of maybe strawberry marbles.

walking out with a case is simply being a greedy fuck

Case limit might of have been excessive.

Got there around 12:15. When the guy in front of me was asked how much he wanted, he asked if it was going to sell out. The guy at register said they would by this evening, so he thought it about for a few seconds and then said he'd take a case.

I just rolled my eyes at the clerk, he laughed, and I asked for my two.

I think people tend to take limits as recommendations on purchasing subconsciously. I dunno if there's a psychological backing for that but it's always seemed that way.

I liken case limits on this beer (and their other limits of beers like Frooted that sell out in hours) to them allowing 3 bottles per person of BA Karma or Mehndi. It just makes no sense. They do such a good job allocating their stouts, but when it comes to everything else, it seems to make no sense.

I know this is how it works on me. At multiple releases I always just thought I'm getting the allotment without really thinking it through. At the last Rev can release I was like I'll just take the whole allotment, then I was like wait no, that's dumb I'm not going to be able to even drink that much beer before I move out of Chicago, and I had to consciously decide to buy one four pack of each.

I think a FOMO also makes people choose the full allotment.

or at least I'd rather believe that than think everyone is selling / flipping these which is a huge bummer.

Completely agree. I really disagree with More and Mikerphone's sales practices so they get very, very little to nothing of my beer budget. Fortunately there are some other Chicago breweries that have their shit together a little more.

Bad customer service by More. Pro Tip: Skip More and Mikerphone and get your IPA from Hubbards Cave. Much better overall experience.
