As far as I'm concerned, extras are half the fun of trading. Always enjoy surprising trading partners with great extras (and receiving as well, of course).

Thanks to several extremely generous BA folks, I've received countless unbelievable bottles as extras. Just now getting around to opening an Avery Immitis--can't even recall who sent me this (and the reviews are somewhat polarizing), but thoroughly enjoying it at the moment.

What are some of the "best" extras you've received (or sent)?

Probably a Heady Topper because that was the first time i tried it and was blown away. It must be the heroin dealer model of giving you a taste for free until you start Jonesing...

Also a Central Water BBBW. I wasn't expecting much and it turned out to be one of my favorite BBBWs ever. I literally fell head over heals.

Steimie sent me a sucaba, that ruled. TomTwanks sent me a crap ton of good ones, including tart of darkness. NWer hooked up some good ones as well, including a bottleworks 13th anniversary.

I've been very fortunate to get some amazing extras over the years. In no particular order but some individual bottles that stick out in my head...

    MOAS- Black13
    Abyss- Bitterbill
    Sanctification and Jubel 2010- Azureoval
    4pk Heady Topper
    Vera Mae
    Everett
    Double Sunshine
    Citra
    Oude Tart
    Cantillon Classic

There have been some great ones and some awesome BAs I'm forgetting to name. I hope I put great boxes together too.

Double Daisy Cutter was really nice, Pliny, Wookie Jack, Alpha King, Robert The Bruce. Chicago area trades are great for me because 3F stuff is really great stuff and most are off the shelf. I use locals from Highlands and Olde Hickory, Mother Earth as extra's, they are highly rated, they're just not sexy brews. Seekbrew is a help, but I hate to send stuff someone can buy themselves.

Its hard for me to say what I have received as extras since a lot of trades have been me sending homebrew and a few extras and the other person sending back what they think the homebrew is worth. I usually consider the best bottle(s) they send as extras since I don't consider my homebrew to be that valuable. With that in mind here is my list:

    Moloko (apocalypsezombie)
    Abyss (Bitterbill)
    Darkness (yamar68)
    Westy 8 (yamar68)
    The Dissident (Bitterbill)
    Everett (standardcherry)
    BCBS and PtE (bstyle)
    3F Oude Gueze (davey101)

I'm at the point where I am almost exclusively trading with past trading partners, and usually the entire trade is an open-ended box of extras.....

If there is something they specifically say they want, and I can get it, then it goes in too.

I've had many great extras but the most recent one that stands out was CBS. We had a loose trade worked out where I sent him some decent bottles and in return he would send $50 worth of beer or something like that. Out of that $50 worth of beer, I did throw out some suggestions of stuff I would be interested in with CBS NOT being one of them based on what I sent him.

Not only did he hit my suggestions but "threw" in a CBS as well! Big thanks to katje111. I've traded with this guy a few times and everytime he has crushed me with xtras. I would try to outdo him on our next trade but I feel its a lost cause at this point. Thanks again Jake!

It was supposed to be a sub for a Cucumber Saison, but it wasn't subbed, just extra'd, but BA Church On A Hill was a sweet extra.
