Wow. What a joke WF is this year. Sorry to hear all the low allotment yields. Plus $ up charge it seems. BS

Hi all, heading to a beer share and want to bring one of the variants tonight. Between vanilla, midnight orange, and Prop what do you think is best to drink fresh? I'll be aging the others for the time being.

I mean, WF up charges on everything else, why not BCBS??

You might have to find a time traveler to get a realistic answer on this. The most logical response you will get is the Midnight since the it has cellar for 1-2(?) years as opposed to 5.

I'd say prop. Midnight doesn't need any aging, but prop will probably be the biggest crowd pleaser.

I got to Kingsbury WF about 7:55 (5 minutes before open). A lady came out to count, and told us there were only enough Reserve for the first handful of people, but everyone else should be good to get the other variants...except Prop. She said they were the only one to get Reserve, but Lakeview and Edgewater got the Prop. I think they had 1.5 cases or so of Reserve (guessing 2 cases less employees that got some of it).

I was about 40th in line, and got Vanilla, Bramble and Orange. I was satisfied with that, knowing how late I got there. As an FYI, they were a dollar cheaper on variants than Binny’s, but a dollar more on regular.

The nice thing they did was that they allowed loopers, but they told the loopers they had to let anyone behind them go first if those people hadn’t bought anything yet. Everyone seemed to be fine with this, as the loopers let the others move up ahead of them without hassle. I overheard one of the first people in line mention they camped out for 5 hours.

10 prop and 10 reserve, 2 cases of everything else. People were looping too so I doubt anything good is left.
There was only about 40ish people there at 9

Seems like the loopers decimated LV in short order. I walked in at 7:30 after dropping my son off at school - looked like a case or two of WW and maybe less than a case of CBW. Healthy stack of regular.

Curious people's opinion on whether Reserve was harder to come by last year or this year. Ex ante we all I think assumed 2018 would be tougher based on the Binny's allocation, but Ex post it seems like perhaps the two years were comparable?

This year for sure. I know that it's more limited than last years and you can see that through store allocations of the beer.

Lucky for you that WW is excellent. I grabbed a second bottle of Bramble "in case" (I purchased the first at Jewel), but if I didn't have 2 bottles of WW already, I'd have grabbed another. Realistically, there are a lot of flavored stouts on the market right now, so while I definitely want a bottle of Prop and wouldn't turn down Reserve, beers like WW and Straight Jacket are pretty special because they're so much less common.

Market-wise they are going 1:1 against this years prob, I don't believe that was the case last year though..

Last year's prop was initially trading at 3/4 of a VR, but does not appear to be that way this year. Think that says more about Prop than Reserve.

Oh I dunno if it has been mentioned yet but @BigKev23 possibly created the best variant this year with a cuvee of about 75/25 Vanilla/Midnight Orange

I walked in at like 7:08 and was lined up behind like 20 people who already had bags from their first go around.

What’s the point of having limits then? I understand for Binnys when there are 1,000 people in line, but if you just saw the person and we’re talking about a dozen in line, just enforce the limit. Thinking too simply?
