Got it. I think I misread thinking you had 2018, which would’ve made less sense since it would be fresh. I’ll blame it on my hangover.

Interesting, it seemed to come and go pretty quickly most places in Chicago.

Still on the fence for whether or not I want to try and snag one, the price point is just a little too high for me.

they had a founders tap takeover at my local whole foods yesterday. i grabbed a pour of cbs and walked around sipping it while shopping (which felt weird). it was much more maple forward with less barrel character than last year. i think i liked it better, but not enough to grab a bottle.

If you’re still willing to give Founders your money in 2019. CBS will be back for the 3-peat.

I've gotten secondhand information suggesting this also. They said to expect KBS to hit shelves more than annually and CBS to be a once a year thing. More KBS got realeased in MI at Black Friday, so I believe it.

Kinda bullshit with the 10 case pp limit on panther cub. It was gone in an hour yesterday from the Detroit location.

Do you know if they did a second 2018 release nationally? Did they brew a second batch, or was it just leftover from the original brewing? I just walked into a beer store in Seattle and they had a few 4 packs of KBS. They say bottled on 2/15/18, so I'm wondering if these just arrived or if they somehow sat on the shelf for 7 months.

Not "kinda" bs. Total bs. I was in GR early enough to buy the three six-packs I wanted. But the clerks told me about people bringing their own dollies and taking 10 cases. Ninety percent of the fault is with Founders, which allowed such huge purchases. But the hoarders are real sh*theads, and at fault too. I hope they aren't on Ba posting trades right now, because that's not my idea of "Ba community" spirit.

Not sure. I've still got my stash from the spring so I didn't buy any and didn't think to check the dates on the bottles on the shelf.
I do know for a fact that they've bottled more than one batch in a year in the past though (even if they don't admit it), so who knows.

Yikes, 10 case "limit"?! I was going to ask if Founders was supplying dollies, or if the shitlords were bringing their own. Now I know...unfortunately.

Founders sent email today with 2019 calendar.

    - Blushing Monk 4/packs January/February
    - Imperial Stout December (2019)
    - CBS confirmed as last in Barrel Aged Series for next year. KBS and Backwoods 2 others and then 2 surprises.
    - Mothership series continues

    The rest is pretty standard.

Panther Cub sold out today in GR around 1:30.

CBS will be in 12oz 4 packs (international and domestic) in 2019. Perhaps along with 750ml bottles here in the states but there will be 12 oz bottles. Not a bold prediction in any way but I think you can mark it down.

I would guess these 10 case purchases are at the hands of beer groups and not traders but I could be wrong.

Blushing Monk is another beer that will be better to have in the 12 oz bottles. Aw hell, every beer is better in 12 oz bottles.

To be clear, Panther Cub lasted into Sunday in GR. Their fb page stated they had 420 cases of Panther. I don't know if that included the Detroit allocation or not.

And I'm happy to see the Mothership Series continue. Cerise would be a most welcome addition to this series among many others.

I'm not sure where the complaining is regarding the Panther Cub release. Sales in Grand Rapids lasted over a day with a huge limit, meaning you could have walked in there all day on Saturday, without a line, to purchase more than you could physically carry out of there. A friend of mine picked up a couple of 6pks for me since I couldn't make it over there. I shared one with my wife last night, solid beer at a good price point. I can't see this garnering much trade value with anyone but Founders fanboys with massive cases of FOMO.

I think the shocking thing is that the other mothership releases lasted months. This one went in a day and involved shitheads buying 10 cases at once.

Agreed, I've traded with a guy on the most recent Mothership release (Fudge Donkey), and was expecting it to be more like that. I assumed it wouldn't last quite as long, but definitely didn't realize this one would go that quick.

Glad it lasted a little longer in GR. I saw the reports of the sellout in Detroit on Saturday and had already planned to go to GR on Sunday. I went a little earlier than I had planned, and they still had it at noon.

Bought 2 cases to spread around to people in Lansing. I probably still could have gotten the limit at that point but no reason to do that. I think it sold out while I still at the bar or shortly after.

I opened one last night. A lot of complaining (and I do agree for a right reason as a 10 case limit was stupid) on fb saying it was such a mediocre beer etc. I really liked it. Slight maple, nice vanilla, bit of barrel, roasty but creamy. A touch thin but it is a porter. I'm a fan.
