This is just that 90s kid nostalgia marketing that I've talked about before.

Sorry for the confusion folks. Was referring to @ONovoMexicano's note about using the "cease and desist to garner more attention to their establishment" when I was talking about riling up the anti-establishment crowd. Publicizing the cease and desist(s) and decrying the interventions of "the establishment" (aka, big corporations and their outside counsel) is what could "rile up" the anti-establishment crowd.

Don't some breweries seem to be imagining names and labels then making up beer recipes to fill them up with? I know we give OH shit about their branding strategy but the haphazard nature of it at least suggests they brew an awesome beer then think about how to name it; the inverse instinctively bugs me.

Oh absolutely, if you look at the untappd ratings for those Something Brewery beers, they are pretty bad. They are just throwing money into marketing in lieu of making a good product. It's a clear attempt to ride the hype wave of craft beer, or at best build up a brand name and hope you produce good beer eventually for actual long-term success. Other Half's haphazard branding/naming strategy annoys me, but at least their focus is to put out a good product. That's how they got to where they are today.

Yeah but BS is a terrible brewery and magnify is more or less a barely above average IPA factory.

So bring on Double Quaker Oats with 2% Day Dream

I agree with your second point but only half agree with your first point. However, I was merely pointing out that as ridiculous as it is, those beers exist.

Half agree as well. Some cans of their creamsicle have been great!

my problem with BS is inconsistency and fall off. in 2016/2017 I brought quite a few 4pks of various BS beers and never once did I have a 4pk where all 4 beers were good - one usually seemed to have been a QA issue, and all their hoppy beers fell off a steep cliff after a few weeks.

also they'll email your boss if you post negatively about them on a facebook group lol

Problem is no more than 25% of their beers are any good and the ones that are good fall off in like 10 days...

You spoiled me with those creamsicle cans!

Admittedly, I haven't picked any up from whole foods now that we seem to get it on distro.

You can get as much Other Half or Grimm as you want! Don't buy BS...

I think what I miss most about the city is Other Half beer and Broadway Dive.

Lol I was just thinking that last year I would have trolled this (and probably did), but this year I’m adding it up saying “you know what it’s actually not too bad”.

I've had good pilsners and I don't think crickets is one of them

It's fine. Nothing to write home about, but I'll buy a 4-pack to break up the monotony of drinking IPAs all the time.

I enjoy Crickets. It’s also a nice change of pace to drink in the taproom when the only other options are 8.5%’rs.
