Drinking a one year now. Lot more of the base comes through compared to previous BA Behemoths. Barrel is more subtle. Not as boozy. Still excellent. The decrease in barrel presence allows for more sweetness from the base. It's an interesting change up from years past.

I will also say this.. fresh BA Behemoth has been my favorite beer since I tried it in 2015. I've always thought that age does it a disservice and it gets a cardboard aspect to it. This particular year, i feel like age will work a little better with it. In the past when the hops faded, so did the quality of the beer. I think the more pronounced sweetness and less booze will allow this beer to stand up to time a little better

    Anyone see limits on these?

Uhhh guys.. the two year is way different and way better than the one year. The base has been almost completely muted by the barrel. Big time oak.. boozy.. the hops are way dialed back. Finishes sweet and the barrel really shines compared to the one year. Enjoy fellers

Assuming you are referring to the ba Behemoths , there were no limits on any of them

*technically* two cases. I asked what the limit was before I purchased so I didnt look like a dick head asking for a million bottles

During last years (I think last year) Dark Lord Day they announced they were only hitting about half capacity on their barrels of beer limit (so half of about 90k barrels).

Makes me wonder if they are using a lot of the other half for BA beer now. The fact that Pillar of Beasts and BA Behemoth both have labels and not handwritten bottles makes me think A). There are too many bottles to hand write. B). There are so many that they dont need limits anymore.

Would be great to see this be the norm. Their BA beers are always top quality, especially on barrel character. Would love to see BA Moloko with labels, availability, and no limits

Update: Army of Hops is fucking good

If you blind tasted, you'd think it was permanent funeral. Huge body for a 7% ipa and retains the sweetness and hop power of PF.

This is definitely worth trying for FFF fans

3 Floyds has subtly been killing it since DLD ended

Just snagged a bottle of Permanent Funeral and Army of Hops with an 11/18 bottle date. Nice and fresh. Looking forward to cracking these this weekend.

Did you love it $30 worth? Didn't in the past they have bombers for $15 for behemoth? I'm not liking this $30 750ml trend. It almost makes me want to stop in the pub to get it on draft. But, what is there to do in munster while sobering up? Take a freezing cold walk in the park? Go to white castle?

The only $15 Behemoth that I've ever known about is the regular version in bombers. And it's more expensive than that even after distro.

I live far enough I've never been, even though they got me into craft beer. Would love to get brewery only releases like these Behemoth & the new 500 ml. bottles. But at 3 and a half hours away, it's hard to do.
