Lagunitas Sucks

Seriously... great stuff.

 

Its happening, im just assuming itll be somewhere around the actual holidays (if you were take away seasonal creep).

 

Is it just me, or is it less hoppy this year?

 

This is the thought that went through my head when I read the title... "Someone is dissing one of my favorite breweries?"

Definitely a great beer!

Wait, what? Is it out now, or did you get an old bottle?

I know I drank one in May or June, and the hops had died down significantly.

 

I don't know guys. It isn't on this list. I'd be seriously bummed if I didn't get my fix this year...

 

It wasn't on any list last year. The only reason that Lags would not brew Sucks this year would be a shortage in crucial hops(which could happen) But prolly not. Not to mention Sucks is better than every ale on that list including Hop Stoopid.

 

Knowing how busy they have been with expansion and the things in Chicago, I worry that it will get cancelled, or get pushed into spring, or they'll only make only so little. They really want to bring back Hairy Eyeball/ Gnarly Wine in the first quarter of 2013 I believe, so that is holding their balls in a bear trap.

But I do hope it starts making its rounds late November and on into December/ January like last year.

Sucks was a replacement for Brown Shugga last year. So I don 't think they brewed it this year since Brown Shugga is back.

I am with you all the way. That was the best new beers I tried last year. For what its worth, I sent an email to Lagunitas last week, inquiring about Sucks and this is the reply I received:

Our Lagunitas Sucks Holiday Ale Brown Shugga Substitute is one brew we are absolutely proud of and have every intention of bringing back. The real question we have been trying to sort out is WHEN?? We are aiming for some time at the end of 2012 but we won’t entirely rule out the possibility of it being released at the start of 2013. I promise it’ll be worth the wait!

I sent it to Lagunitas general email address and this is the reply i received. Hoping this is true as I am anxiously awaiting its release.

 

Since they got label approval for the large format bottles (can't remember exact size?), pretty sure Sucks will be made again. Thought it was going to be out early 2013?

 

Quart sized bottles. Gonna be gnarly. Can't wait.

 

they planned on 32oz Sucks bottles for next batch and will be in coolers alongside malt liquor 40's. This was their original intention... hope it holds true!

 

Who cares when it comes? Some day it will be here, and I'll be glad to get some. Til then, I'll drink other beer. It's not like there isn't any.
