First time for this one; part of the Winter Classics box.

Tall tan head over a deep ruby body with rising bubbles. It certainly looks the part of a Christmas beer.

    Sweet malty aroma, slight spice.

Moderate body and mouth feel, if slightly flat. Sweet malts and spices in the taste, cinnamon is there but only slightly, with a nicely bitter finish to keep the sweetness under control. Easy drinking, pleasant, but hardly "bold" as the label promises (although maybe it was nearly 20 years ago when introduced...).

Drinking this tasty Belgium style coffee stout by Allagash, while I make potato leek soup for a family gathering.
The stout is very good, hope the soup is as well....

Nasty day here so I might as well. I’ve got Boston Butt cooking on the grill & my red slaw is made. We’re going to be eating good in the neighborhood later.

That last beer was pretty nice. Let's see if this one can keep the momentum going. Cheers, everyone!

Enjoying one of these while putting up the Christmas Tree, as per tradition for the last few years. Helps get the smell of spruce sap off me.

Literally the most expensive IPA I’ve ever purchased (21.99 a 4 pack). The Brewing Projekt make Great beer, but I don’t see myself buying more at those prices. Cheers

Went to this new craft beer beer bar in Bonn, close to Cologne today. Didn't exactly blow me away, but nice enough place, I sure had some nice beers there.

To Ol, 3x Thirsty Simcoe (no picture), a triple dry-hopped IPA which was perfectly fine, but the triple dry-hopping certainly wasn't particularly obvious.

De Molen, Vuur & Vlam, a WC style IPA which was quite resinous and rather nice.

Pohjala, Öö, an Imperial Porter with strong notes of roasted malts and chocolate and a rather dry and bitter character, very nice.

With the weather the way it is today it begs you to drink a stout, and I must say this one doesn’t suck.
