Stickman continues with their tongue in cheek trolling on labels. Collaboration with Bonn Place:

Ale Style Ale is pretty clever. But I guess I'm one of those beer snobs who actually wants to know what the beer might taste like before I plunk down rich guy money for it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, Ethan Buckman has (understandably) expressed a bit of frustration about style definition on a previous thread:

I'm sure that is frustrating. But then he goes meta on the whole thing by labeling it "Ale Style Ale" and including no information about the beer itself in the paragraph-long Instagram description (other than it's brewed with barley, yeast and hops). This is supposed to convince people to drive out to his brewery rather than the closest package store and spend more than $3.99 a 4-pack?

There's literally no info about the beer provided at all, other than that people chasing the "best" beer are silly. It's making fun of hipster bullshit with even more hipster bullshit.

Or is that what hipsters want these days? Maybe I'm too old and crotchety to even get it. Is there a new word for hipsters now?

Which beer was that? I know they post every now and then that they tweak their recipes etc (when it's already an ipa) but I can't remember which hoppy farmhouse beer they don't brew anymore but instead brew under a different name.

I don't know. But Beer from a Farm was one of their original beers, and was labeled as "American Farmhouse Ale" .

he should wait a week or two, then rename it "Ale Style IPA".

The label on Loud Noises is a good shout-out to the namesake quote from Anchorman:

They are releasing Breakfast for Dummies again. Last year's batch was outstanding

Haven't been to the Chester Springs location yet, and it's only 10-15 minutes down the road.

Was at the brewery Saturday night, and they had some fine offerings on tap.

Looks like they got a canning line. It was always hard to watch how much work it was for them to fill cans by hand basically 1 or 2 at a time.... hopefully they are growing the right way and not overexpaning too quickly

I picked up a 4 pack of the DDH Crane. Boy, is that one super cloudy and really light in color. It was good, but not "OMG this is the best beer we have ever brewed" good as per their IG posts.

Stopped by this weekend after dinner. Only had time for a pint of Mafia Movies (tiramisu stout) before last call, but took home cans of the Major Digression (Weizenbock), Obesity Epidemic (Belgian Stout), and Crushing Student Debt (Double Belgian Brown Ale).

Tonight cracked open a can of the latter, and it's very good. Somewhere between a dubbel and a quad in both intensity of malt flavor and abv (it's 9.2%). The Belgian yeast esters and flavor are balanced nicely by bready and caramel flavors. Well balanced, not too sweet or boozy. Fuller bodied.

And how did you like the Mafia Movies? That's one of my favorite beers from them, so different and so good.

It was good - the flavors were spot on. But while it wasn't overly sweet, with those dessert flavors, I was satisfied with just one glass.
