Have you ever gotten a beer related gift (not beer) for Christmas that you actually liked? I’ve been looking for ideas for my wife to get me and everything looks dumb. I think I’d rather just have the beers or a gift certificate to the beer store. Anybody got any thoughts or other gift ideas?

Have her get you a set of flight glasses and board. You'll have an excuse to have 4 beers open at once, that's the gift that keeps on giving:grin:

On a more serious note, I saw a periodic table of beer styles poster once, pretty cool. Also neon beer signs are nice if you have a gameroom/man cave.

Plenty of good books out there. I like The Brewmasters Table by Garret Oliver.

Not for Christmas (don't celebrate it, among other things) but for (I think) my birthday someone got me some nice glasses (Libby mix pack) and a very nice opener - bartender style, with hand-blown glass grips. (still wish I could justify the Damascus steel ones someone on the board makes. I forget who, but they had a thread about it a while back in the brewerania forum.

That's a great suggestion! My wife goes to a lot of antique and thrift stores, and she's gotten me a number of old signs that she's come across- more than I've even gotten on my own :grin:. Some are lighted, some are mirrored- no neon yet. But with that kind of stuff in the right room, the more the merrier. And that old stuff tends to have that look of authenticity that can't be matched.

A piece of art as well as a beautiful glass. Merry Xmas to me, hopefully it has a long life. Versatile as well. What beer geek out here doesn't like great glass?

About 10 years ago my sister-in-law got me about 15 beer glasses from different breweries. Many of them were different style glasses. Sierra Nevada, Troegs Mad Elf, Yards, Victory, etc. It was a blast to open the box and unwrap each one. Every time I use one of those glasses I think of what a great gift that was.

It is. Some things cost, they are both art and functional, like Waterford crystal. It's expensive but it would be a lifetime of pleasure if your careful. And it's a present.

Neon lit signs bring me back to my childhood, when you still saw more of them used. Theres an old chicken restaurant/bar in my town that I love because they kept it in its 70s neon lit glory(from before my time), in and outside the building. Just magnificent, the chicken ain't bad either.

Custom Glassware, either Simon Pearce(already mentioned) or something handblown. You can get a set for about $200 and while it is expensive but I bet none of your buddies have them. Brewery hoodies are nice in the winter.

I am the only beer-drinker, craft or otherwise, in the family. When I got into craft, I quickly realized that if I didn't head them off, I would be getting all kinds of beeraphanalia that I would have to pretend to like while never needing or using. They wanted to get me brewing supplies, but I've never wanted to go that direction. We've always made wish lists for each-other, though we do stray from it. I usually send them links to specific shirts, glasses, hats, etc. Once, my daughter strayed from the list by going to a craft store and asking for a mixed-six of "beers like that one with the baby on it", and I ended up with a nice assortment of craft stouts. That reminds me, I better get a few beer things on my list.

Some nice ideas guys. I really like the neon idea and glassware is a close second.
I guess I’m just kinda hard to buy for cuz I’m very content with what I have, except for beers.

I asked for a box of Spiegelau 15.5oz tulips. I think it'll make for some better pictures, since I won't have logos interfering. Plus, I just really like those glasses.

Otherwise, I don't know what I'd ask for beer related. Maybe some live edge walnut slabs 2' feet to build a comforting, woodland beer cellar.

My wife went to a store that sells a lot singles, you can get a mixed six pack for 12 bucks. Got 12 gift cards for 12,plus tax and gave them to me for Christmas. Every month I would stop in there and make up a pack using one of her cards. It was a thoughtful, well used gift
