I don’t get it. Why would you rate it a 4.25 if it has those issues?

Untappd high ratings + shitty review = easier to trade away if you can't read.

Ummm because a 4.25 is still better than a 4.o and this beer wasnt a 4.o but it wasnt a 4.5o IMO. Sorry my palate isnt as sophisticated as yours, I would think you can tell by the emoji rating system:joy:
You think you can show me how to write great untappd reviews like yours bud?:joy:

I didn't make this release, but was fortunate enough to grab some Planets Gotta Roll two weeks ago when it was called Water Balloon Fight Club

I get a lot of monkish taste the same, but those beers do use different hops.

Hoping they bounce back after that "off " double can release from last week, IMHO those two didn't taste at all like they should have.

    Cheers,

lol. well, shoot, I thought spock it held up better than foggier, so now I don't really know haha. since i've never had planets, its hard to say.

what I will try and say/ask is, is it possible that this batch of galaxy has a different profile - either more or less oil, etc (not a home brewer or knowledgeable enough to know exactly) - which might be affecting how the mouth feel is being perceived?

i know i've heard a podcast where Henry was talking about hops, and how they can affect, and/or add to, mouth feel (citra and galaxy in particular) and maybe this batch is just putting off a different feel? hell, i have no idea what i am talking about but just a thought. lol.

anyways, i've built this one up in anticipation over time that i dont think i can say one way or the other, but i dig it and am happy i got to try it; regardless if its the lesser of the prior batches. =/

    cheers!

*edit- more of a reply to your comment on untappd than here XD

So monkish sells bic lighters now? Assuming this is a joke, and if not then well I guess this is thr new teku fad for monkish boys.

While this is true, to capture the distinctness of the hop one has to use it in a way that highlights its unique qualities, and this requires subtlety and not just aggressivity. Henry oftentimes just saturates the beer to the point where the hop used becomes indiscernible. Don't get me wrong, I love these things, but let's not pretend like Monkish is the paradigm of subtlety. Particularly their D+DH stuff is often as close as you get to inhaling a line of dried hop powder.

They did have lighters, they asked if I wanted one, I almost laughed but instead just said no.

The subtlety of Henry's beers are in his single hopped IPA's in and around the 6.5-6.8% ABV range, it's these beers that showcase true craftsmanship and austerity, and is probably why Pre-Historic Bad Boy was the best beer Monkish made this year by far.

    Cheers,
