One of the reviewers noted a tart cherry flavor???? I hope they got confused and selected the wrong beer

Nice bourbon notes come through on nose and mouthfeel.. less sweet than regular DS. Very smooth but boozy. 4.75

LOLOLOL you actually thought people were going to drink this beer after spending that much money? Everyone left asap from gn with gam gam racing to FedEx to get their shipments out so they could get those Xmas gifts paid off from their Amazon wishlist, or rent most likely..i cant imagine anyone actually really reviewing this beer properly without some paid sponsorship.

Well, no disrespect to anyone, but unless it was a 5.75, I'm still not sure what all the fuss has been about.

A wee parable: I went to Holy Mountain this afternoon—after waking up at a very reasonable hour this morning, during which I read for a couple hours at my local coffee shop, exercised, penned some emails, wasted the normal amount of time, etc...—and enjoyed, with zero hassle, a flawless Baltic Porter I'd have given a perfect rating to if I used Untappd or still rated beers.

And then on my way home I quickly picked up a bottle of each B-Bomb variant at the UBG, still plentiful well after the release, for good measure.

I sincerely hope that everyone else had an equally satisfying day.

I'm drinking a 1 liter growler of Upright's Saison Vert that i picked up for a princely $7.75. So yes, my day is quite satisfying!

Shitlords gonna shitlord, whether it’s this beer or the next big thing. We (I) don’t want this thread/forum overrun by blind fanboys, but neither do we (I) want aggro negativity. Highlighting less pleasant aspects of beer culture, whether as a proponent or harsh critic, is giving it undeserved attention. By all means, stay and contribute something positive, but please let go of this topic.

You all think people who are fans of the beer or faced the crowds are gonna chime in when the room is filled with flame throwing haters.

I thought this was a forum for sharing information and experiences around beer in the PNW. I guess I should have realized that no such forum can exist without criticizing how other choose to consume beer.

I enjoyed a Breakside IPA at the PSU basketball game tonight. It was good, as always. Similarly, I hope everyone reading this enjoyed your beverage for the night. If it happened to be a BBDS, then cheers. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Because it's not a real review, it was someone who said they had a nightmare about it and posted a review before it was released.

I'm not too upset how they released this. To them it was a long time coming and a special beer to them so they wanted to do something different than just throw bottles out the door. On top of that, the glass and beanie were being sold separately for $20 each, wooden bottle opener for $12, and let's say the box is $15-$20 for argument sake. That makes a 500ml bottle of beer $26-28 a bottle, high but definitely not crazy.

Did I want to wait in line for this? Definitely not, waiting in line for anything sucks. But am I upset how they did this? Naw, especially since they will have individual bottles for sale at another time.

Also, I plan on opening a bottle tomorrow after work. I'll post a review when I do.

    ????

I'm reading some derisive and mocking posts, but calling the comments in this thread "flame throwing haters" seems a bit strong. If some folks are posting perfect 5 scores on untapped before the beer has even been released ( and so before they've had a chance to try it), I think a little derision is to expected.

Some of the derisive observations and comments I've seen on this thread have been a bit strong and excessive at times, but a lot of them seem pretty close to the mark as well

$20.00 for a glass is absurd. Beanie price isn’t awful but in general most their pricing is ridiculous.

Then I concede that the reviewer deserves to be called a hater. Thanks for the info.

Don't you know that if you're not in perfect lock-step with the hype-driven hive mind, you're automatically a H8er?
