What beer are you drinking now? #2252

Good morning, @DoctorZombies! My wife asked why I had @DoctorZombies written on the calendar today. I told her that was to remind me to drink the amazing beer that he gave me, before the deadline that is listed on the label. I just made it at the buzzer! This beer is amazing! All the flavors listed are very noticeable, and they blend perfectly! What a treat! Thank you, sir!

 

Good morning BAs! Thanks, @DoctorZombies, for starting today's thread. Most mornings it starts too late for me to join in, but today I'm doing laundry and running behind. Today's New breakfast Beer:



The photo looks cloudy, but the initial pour is crystal clear and beautiful. I won't buy another of these for myself, but I'll be picking up one for a friend in the UK.

 

I am trying this rare Imperial Stout from Epic Brewing, Quadrupel Barrel Aged Big Bad Baptist, ABV 12.30%. It is aged in Whiskey barrels and Rum barrels and brewed with roasted cacao nibs, Barrel Aged coffee beans, Barrel Aged coconut, and Barrel Aged almonds. The flavor (and aroma) has all of that, roasted malts, dark roasted coffee, significant coconut, chocolate, whiskey, rum, and a hint of almond/nutty, some booziness at the right amount. All of that really well balanced. A truly fine Imperial Stout.

One child arrived last night and now we're watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

 

I don't "Gulf IPA" is exactly a category but it is catchy . . .




Deep, clear orange gold color with good white cap and lacing.

Aroma of piney, citursy hops with a decided grapefruit zest bent.

Taste is hop forward with a solid malt base. Hops play the major role here with strength and vibrancy yet the malt makes it's presence known. Fairly complex flavors well blended together from start to its clean, refreshing finish.

 

Great Notion Chuck's Notion IPA. Not the best GN I've had, but it'll do for getting me ready for the new Spiderman flick this afternoon.

 

Nunchuck Ping Pong and a Danwitch Steak Tip sub and Cajun fries. Hell yes!

 

A little barrel action here ba. My last bottle on hand but seeing that the new vintage won't hit here till summer I'll probably grab some more. Notch '18,
