What beer are you drinking now? #2253

Post night shift strong beer

This is the first beer I would ever describe as having Bourbon dominant in the aroma and taste with no boozey heat at all. Really good stuff. Cheers all!

 

I have a Stone Sanctimonious IPA cracked right now. Just rated it a 3.83 and called it an everyday IPA. Not one to break out for a special occasion, but you wouldn't be embarrassed to serve it to friends, either. Fruity & hoppy, just like an IPA should be.

 

TGIF! struggling, but trying my best to get into the holiday spirit.

 

Sixpoint's Sparkler Brut IPA...

Features Citra and Mosaic hops, 7% abv, canned 12/11...

Starting full court Christmas mode with a Bourbon County bottled 15 OCT 14 while watching the Dan Patrick Show. Still a good bourbon presence along with some dark cherry, vanilla and heavy oak in the finish. Cheers to the holiday weekend......

 

Happy Friday before Christmas and Happy Winter Solstice BA's

Seems like a good time to break out my GD Jer -Bear mug! Pretty tasty!

 

Light yellow gold color with good white cap and lasting lacing.

Aroma of clean malty grain and floral, spicy hops.

Taste is a good combination of malt, grain and hops all at once. I did notice the malt/grain was upfront and the hops building most after mid palate but hops were definitely in the parade from the start. Flavors of grain and hops complement each other well and stay in balance to the finish. It's a delightfully balanced brew.

Medium full texture with balancing carbonation.

According to the brewer their is some flaked maize in the grain bill which puts this in the AAL category. That's not to say it's in bad company, far from it, at 20 IBU coming from Noble Hops this one harks back to the days when American Lagers were more fully flavored and more highly hopped than in recent years. A pre-prohibition Lager if you will.

Checked a couple of items of my Christmas shopping list....figured I might as well stop at Medusa for a beer seeing as I was in the area.
This New England style ipa is hopped exclusively with hops from Slovenia! Delicious! And I’ll definitely be getting cans to go.

 

Right along here ba. Grabbed my second 4 pack of this local brew the other day. Turning Tides, dipa, from Garvies Point. Features citra, simcoe, and mosaic hops. Really nice hop juice. 12/5/18,

 

It's the first day if Winter... and 66 degrees out.. time to sit out on the patio

Finishing up for now with an ESB on Cask. Really enjoying this and probably should drink more cask beers when the opportunity arises.

 

Inferno in Paradise. A DIPA from Alefarm Brewing.

Could not finish more than half of the Carolus Christmas beer I posted earlier. Had an intuitive feeling I would regret it next morning if I had more of it (combined with some DIPA's I like to try). Nothing wrong with this Carolus on it's own by the way.
