What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #2254

Howdy all - shit just got real here in New Mexico, breaking open the 11.09.18 bomber of La Negra from Cumbre. BA imperial stout, a delight - cocoa, marshmallow, and coffee notes wafted over by a light whiff of boozy-ness. Completely balanced, not hot at all, and the weight is fantastic. At 10.5% it's also not a world-ender, but has good mouthfeel and viscosity, and remains light on its feet. Wonderful stuff.

Happy Saturday ba. Into it with more of this good stuff. Fork & Beans, coffee stout, from Greenport Harbor. Uses a maple butterfinger coffee in the brewing. Coffee forward with a nice sweet butterscotch flavor on the finish. Could use a little more body but still pretty tasty. 11/21/18,

Saw this and picked up a bottle based on it being called one of the best East/West fusion beers:



Gotta say, I surprisingly like it, despite my skepticism of Stone.

 

Classic for a reason. Definitely a treat for me having that after all the hazy stuff.

 

Happy Saturday-before-Santa, BAs! Took the bus out to Tired Hands yesterday just to get this for some BIF boxes...it’s such a tasty brew!

Beautiful, sunny day out so . . .



Light golden color with white cap and lacing.

Aroma of somewhat juicy hops lightly spiced and a touch of lemon citrus.

Taste of mild malt with some more flavorful malt such as Vienna. Hops are not nearly so noticeable in the flavor as in the scent and in fact fade into the background as the malt builds toward the finish. Fairly simple flavors but well blended together.

Mild to medium texture with balancing carbonation.

This is a good example of a simple brew with flavors that please rather than surge.

Good afternoon fellow BAs A rare pre-work beer. I keep saying I do not enjoy lagers, but then every once-in-a-while, I'll pop one open that makes me think, "wow, this is actually pretty good.".

Sierra Nevada 2018 Summerfest. Brings back very strong and emotional memories of spending time last year and the year before with the closest friend I've ever had. I miss you like hell, Dalton. This one's for you. For old times.
