L1 stayed in line since 530pm? Lol what a godamm loser. All his desperation to trade away his bottle to get more bs beers just shows his shit lord status. Don't even feel bad that people who don't even drink the beer cut in front of him. I'm sure he was too much of a ***** to call out the cutters. Prolly didn't want to lose his whale drinking pours

Did anyone here wait in line over night for the non-barrel aged / non vanilla/coconut/coffee stout they released today? The hype is real.. people are lining up for hours for a basic stout lol

I can believe it. I mean, based off some friends posts, they were getting free magnum pours of some other beer they made, which is a brulee style or some shit. Honestly to me this Brewery is just a place to bring out the worst of the worst beer drinkers who just want to have bottle shares on the street all night long into the next day and get those guys to hype their Brewery enough so they can keep producing "exceptional" beer and trade it to the east coast to get a name. I don't know why it irritates me but it's like "hey bruhhh hey fam here's our beer, hype it as much as possible and we'll keep giving you free crap fam blah blah blah "

This “brewery” defines the current state of craft beer culture so perfectly. Straight cancer.

Have you seen their stories on IG? Now that's real cancer. Nothing but hip hop music playing, hipster bros in tank tops wearing beanies and nothing but posts of tons of bottles all together like it's a massive collection with a final touch of ddbs ultra mega hype post.

This is where the "glass is half full or half empty" concept comes into play.

In my view, the current state of beer has never been better.

World class beer is easily accessible to most of us. I no longer need to travel to another city or Belgium to get it. The people I meet love to share, not just their beer, or access if they belong to some exclusive club, but their experiences and their love of great beer. Honestly I would love to transport some of you to the 1970's when people drove half way across the country to buy Coors. Yes that was a thing back then.

Not sure why you guys get so worked up over this. Its not like this is the first brewery that people lined up for. Sure its over hyped, sure its silly to stand in line all night for beer, but so what. If someone wants to stand line all night for beer, let them have their fun. They will outgrow it.

In the mean time if the beer from this brewery is any good we will all try it eventually.

The point is don't get lost in the silliness or the negative when you in the midst of the best expansion of American brewing in our history. Just get over it.

I personally wouldn't mind trying 3 chiefs better beers. But having never stood in line all night for beer I'm not likely to start now. I guess I'll just have to settle for all the world class beer at my disposal.

    Life is hard.

The first and last beer I stood in line for was Churchills Finest in 2015 of what ended up being a shit show with line cutters not to mention temps hitting the low 40's overnight. Lesson learned. Although, the guys who rented the uhaul with the heaters, couches, and snes setup was pretty impressive.

The production and availability of high quality beer is greater than ever before. There's much to celebrate in that regard. You can be a casual beer fan and enjoy great beers while also ignoring hype breweries.

What's worth, at the very least, some thought is how brewery models have seemingly shifted from large/medium production breweries to small brewpubs or nano breweries. Such a shift, in normal situations, should be celebrated as it provides a greater diversity to the consumer. What's problematic, IMO, is how a certain subset of these breweries are choosing the artificial scarcity approach as a standard for all releases. It used to be that the highly limited and sought-after batches were often seasonal or annual (think Dark Lord Day or Hair of the Dog's annual "...from the Wood" releases). Now, it's a weekly or bi-weekly thing for some breweries. Given the difficulty of starting up a brewery and cultivating a following that's strong enough to sustain your business, it's no wonder more breweries are choosing the hype model in today's landscape. To me, that's worthy of raising an eyebrow.

What remains to be seen is the longevity of the artificial scarcity model. Eventually, folks will tire of the chase and buy something more easily available (lots of those folks on these boards, myself included), or the hype will diminish over time.

Perhaps a solution for the hype brewries is to change their name every year or so when the hype starts to fade.

Pop up brewries, if you will. Kind of like Three Chiefs...
