Cleaning out my beer fridge, drinking some porters, but dumping some 1+ year old IPA’s. Way in the back I found a Pliny bottled on 10/14/11. Drink it or dump it?

Or...keep saving it? Maybe it could eventually be donated to the future craft Beer hall of fame and museum.

Drink it as penance and bottle your tears.

Use it to make beer batter for some killer fish tacos.

No harm done in popping it open and trying it, otherwise you'll never know.

Do a blind side by side with a fresh PTE and see if you can tell the difference.

Nobody is allowed to murder a Pliny. Drink it as your penance for such an ugly thought. It might be a bountyful experience.

It deserved a better fate than sitting unknown and unloved 7- 8 years. You must try it, but I bet it sucks a bit.

Had a similer old Pliny last fall. It was not drinkable. But try anyway. Can’t dump a Pliny.

You should seriously review this side-by-side with a fresh one. I think it would be interesting to see how time has affected it. I've tried some outdated IPA's (things get lost in my fridge, too ) and have been pleasantly surprised at times. At worst, it won't do you any harm, and you can always assemble your dry ingredients for beer bread and/or fish batter ahead of time just in case. Sláinte!

At this point i'd definitely save it as a collectible. It's value is purely historical relic now

From May 2018 share. From Dan Kochakian’s basement (what else is buried down there? It’s like a museum). Not drinkable but w/much respect— dumped it off the porch vs down the drain.

Yeah I tried a year old Pliny one time and it was not fun. No hops at all. Basically sparkling water with a light barley/malt taste.
