What are you cooking there? Ribs?

Also, damn. I'm envious of your CW stout. That place does good things. Real good things.

And Now, the Finale of/to Happy New This Year & Beer Are Flying Outta Here On Sunday, Dog (Week 723)!
What a day! Do you get the sense that I have an affinity for Flying Dog? I got a chance to visit their original facility in Denver, CO in 2001+ coupled with my love of HST's works & their use of Ralph Steadman art, they rank way up there for me! We don't get distro of everything of theirs here in SouthCentral PA, but I am always scouring ...

It's a brisket I'm gonna try smoke tomorrow. I figure cooking something low and slow will give me an excuse to have a beer in my hand without my wife wanting to kill me for drinking too much.
As for CW, each of the barrel aged things I've tried from them have been great stuff. I agree that they do real good things. Cheers

Go ahead and enjoy the Resilience now (or at your leisure). I’d still like to find a way to do a virtual tasting, glad to see you are as well. But I did a bad job following up with this choice of a (somewhat limited) package release. I actually haven’t seen any yet, and wouldn’t want people sitting on it too long waiting for others. Cheers!

Fridge temp the bourbon was pretty forward. But as the beer warmed it mellowed a bit. Oddly enough once it warmed it came across as a chocolate orange liquor as opposed to a chocolate orange bourbon stout if that makes any sense.

I really had a tough time trying to describe it last night.

Thanks. I have difficulty with BBA because I feel like the bourbon can be so overpowering. When I liked the Vanilla I was pleasantly surprised. I thought you desceiption of the chocolate orange candy was a good identifier. That gave me a good flavor profile to image.

Beautiful goes. And as for Indiana Jones. I agree completely. I stumbled upon that fourth one a few years back. WTF?!? But I'm also not a fan of the second one (Temple of Doom my ass). The original, as well as the The Last Crusade are classics.

To be honest this variant is the least bourbon forward one that I’ve ever had. For me the bourbon almost disappeared once it warmed .

Couldn't agree more. I haven't written my review of that yet. (Still revising cuz I wanna do it justice.) I was blown away. Such a glorious melding of blueberries into an Impy Stout. I still have the cap, and sniff it regularly. EVEN that is great.

I appreciate Temple of Doom more now. Both Spielberg and Lucus were going through breakups that added to the dark nature of the film. It and Gremlins were directly responsible for the PG-13 rating. Plus it’s a holiday movie...
