What beer are you drinking now? #2265

Being a bit reckless with my last KBS, taken out of my Schlitz goblet. Why not?

 

Ok, drinking blueberry cheesecake, as far as originality it's pretty cool, but in reality I'm not drinking this all day log, it doesn't really taste like beer

 

Santa Fe: 7k IPA

 

Guldenberg Abbey Ale brewed by Brouwerij Brasserie De Ranke....had this banging around for awhile, and I'm not disappointed I cracked it open tonight. One of the more sessionable tripels I've encountered in my limited experience with the style; fruity esters all over, with herbs, floral tones, bready yeast, and clove all smoothly interwoven in the background. I could drink multiples no problem. Cheers, all!

 

My last one. This is dangerously smooth for 11.5%. Good job Hoof. Glassware on point.

 

Fat Orange Cat. Incredible NEIPA. Lasting head retention/thick lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/silky/bready wheat/oats, and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringent. Super smooth/soft, minimal warming 7.5%. Amazing Galaxy, Simcoe, Citra profile. Extremely juicy and lightly dank/earthy hop complexity; perfect wheat/oat/malt balance. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Amazing spot on style example. They have been nailing the more recent ones I've had.

Picked up some really neat beers today at work, but discovered this little gem from an October trade, sitting in the back of my fridge. As per Tree House standards, this has held up amazingly, and I finally got around to reviewing it. Thanks again to whoever sent me this one, in my several TH trades. A great display of Citra hopping. Uploading this photo got me thinking I remember when Captain Lawrence first came around I feel like they specialized in something other than IPAs but I can't remember what it was.. This stuff is pretty good. Some ripe/raw hop notes not just juice.
