2018 edition. Mind blowing amazing as usual. Flavors of huge milk chocolate, caramel, coconut, vanilla, cream, toffee, brown sugar, toasted oak, bourbon, maple, and molasses; with light notes of cocoa, coffee, and raisin/fig yeast fruitiness. Light bourbon/oak spice and roast bitterness on the finish. Fullish bodied; creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Slight roast malt chalk and oak tannins. Touch of bourbon/oak dryness. Very mildly increasing warmth of 15%, zero barrel booze. Just as insane as I remember every other time I've had it. The barrel integration is absolutely perfect. This time around the bourbon/oak tannins seem to be less prominent; which leads to a much silkier/velvety mouthfeel than some previous batches. Also seems to be stronger on the coconut, but not overwhelming. Looking forward to this year's batch. Hopefully some new barrel variants as well.

Awesome batch this year as always. Lasting head retention/thick lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light peppercorn, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Amazingly drinkable. Super juicy and fairly dank/earthy Chinook, Centennial, Cascade hops; perfect bready malt balance, not overly sweet/heavy feeling from lingering resin dryness. I love C hops all year, the fresh hops are very obvious with the herbal/spicy quality going on. Will definitely get a second pack.

Insane NEDIPA as always. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, grapefruit, lemon, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, zesty, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied creamy, bready, grainy wheat/oats in the mouthfeel. Slight hop stickiness, with a touch of increasing lingering bitter dryness. Zero hop astringency. Dangerously drinkable for 9.3%, minimal warming ABV. One of the absolute best in the style I've had, smoothness is unmatched. Pure citrus/tropical fruit juice hop flavors, with a touch of dankness. Never overly sweet/heavy feeling on malts for the ABV; perfectly balanced. Super soft mouthfeel. Old Nation definitely has the best MI NEIPAs. Just finished off a pack from September, these hold up extremely well over a few months. I prefer them with a bit of time actually.

Tasting insane as usual. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, pecan, fudge, marshmallow, biscuit, toasted dark bread, caramel, toffee, molasses, vanilla, cream, and light smoke/charcoal. Light roast/char and herbal hop bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Light slickness, chalky roast, and sticky hops. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness; never acrid/astringent. Super smooth, minimal warming 11%. Glad these are in cans now, this meets and even surpasses what I remember when I reviewed it in 2016. Pretty much identical to the one brewed in Europe at the time, but this one is a bit less bitter on the roast. Phenomenal. Completely worth the $20 price. Still plenty of 4 packs on the shelf.

Yep. It's a Sunday. Logging grades as I sip on this P-Dank.
My only regret? I didn't stay up late enough for LNWBAYDN antics... or maybe that's a good thing that I didn't. Instead, had my mind blown by Annihilation (the movie). Still pondering that...

    This one . . .

Slightly hazy yellow orange color with very good white cap and lacing.

Aroma of tropical fruits, pineapple and something a bit herbal.

Taste is hop forward with a bent towards the fruit. Again pineapple along with some grapefruit all resting atop a malty base. Malt plays second fiddle here yet maintains a baseline all the way through. Hops build slightly from mid palate to the finish ending on a slightly firm note. I don't really taste herbal but there is something that keeps the hop fruit in check. This is a fairly complex IPA that personifies hops while keeping them in check. Well crafted, balanced and tasty.

Good morning, BAs! I've only got a couple of new beers on hand for this Sunday - I totally failed at shopping last night, apparently. So I'm going to start my Sunday off with something I've had before, and was very impressed the first time: Victory Java Cask.
