Galaxy/Nelson and Idaho 7 were my favorite of the cans for sure

Infinity Minus One + 2 is an awesome beer, 4.75 for me. The Other Half addition knocks this collab beer down to a 4.0. Hopefully time does this one good, I remember the other OH/SC collab got better after time.

This collab could be exhibit A of the whole is less than the sum of the parts.

I dunno, I think both are excellent though in different ways.

Between Space Diamonds being so drinkable right out of the gate and Galaxy + Nelson being this good, the Anti-Tosers should be plenty happy!

I'm not going to say others are wrong, but you're DEFINITELY NOT wrong. I think it's as disgusting as it sounds and only tried it because of the hype here. Keep that shit in Hudson Valley please. And while I'm at it, how in the hell do they get away with calling this a Berliner Weisse?! Blasphemous. #hopshowersman

Sand City collab tastes fine. Not mind-blowing, but not disappointing. Seems like it has potential to be great in a week or two.

Blueberry Crunchee still tastes exactly as advertised. What were you guys expecting?

Rob -- everyone, really -- does lactose have a specific taste for you? I never really noticed much flavor to it before about 6 months ago when most every hoppy beer I've had with it included since has had a note very similar to Truvia/aspartame/generic artificial sweetener. I haven't noticed that specific note in any stouts/porters with lactose, so I'm curious if it's possibly (1) an interplay with the hops, (2) the dark roasted malts cover it up in stouts/porters, or (3) all in my head.

At any rate, it's what bummed me out about the Sand City collab last night as that was right up front. Hoping @Comparison_Ford is right that it hits a higher point in the coming weeks.

In my upcoming video series on tasting beer, I'm going to blind taste myself (triangle test obviously) on two pours that aren't tosed vs one pour with half a pound of lactose added in the glass, all from the same can to maintain experimental integrity. We'll see if I notice a difference.

Double Infinity has a "contains lactose" note on the side of the can. Is that new? I can't remember if I've seen that before.

To me, lactose adds a pretty distinct sweetness and mouthfeel. I don't mind it as much in ipas as most of the people here, and actually enjoy most of the daydream beers.

I actually hate lactose in stouts and think milk stouts are one of the worst types of beers in existence.

Double Infinity is good but also super, super sweet to me. I feel like i have to disagree with the hypothesis that OH is putting just a little lactose in these beers, because the vast majority of what I'm picking up is dry, thick sweetness.

I could taste hops as it warmed up, and when I have another can will probably let it sit outside my fridge before cracking it. I'm hoping that the hops will come out as the beer becomes less green, but who knows. The worst part is you know this beer would have been really great if you removed the sweetness. Oh well.

I might have to break my rule and get a taster of Blueberry Crunchee next time I stop in at OH. People are trading HVB cans for it which seems downright Looney Tunes to me.

I find oats to be a bit more off putting than lactose.

Edit: I'd also rather have dream treatment IPAs than the crystal malt bombs of yore. I think there was this super dry response to those old IPAs but then oats/lactose have become a nice way to add a bit more body without making IPAs that sweet. Now we're tilting back towards dry with Brut IPAs and we'll inevitably tilt back.

I notice the lactose sweetness more and more. Really only the triple’s cover it up for me. Double infinity is a little too sweet for me. It’s like a muted down double mosaic/citra daydream.

Currently working on a .pdf research paper ranking all the potential calories in all of other half’s unique beers. Running some machine learning algorithms through some blockchain in the cloud. Should be ready in no time. Will be sure to post my findings.

Some wizard should come up with a regression to come up with a predicted demand for each weekends release and predicted sellout time. Key predictors of sale (though can't speak to their coefficient) =
    - number of Triple IPAs
    - Collaboration beers
    - lactose index
    - Number of times beer has been released in trailing 6 months
    - Number of ISO comments
    - Miscellaneous hype fueling terminology (i.e. hand selected hops, tastes like pineapple, southern hemisphere, etc etc)

Maybe just include this in the appendix in your thesis

Your list of independent variables should also include average mule fee and presence of #moretocome on the IG post.

Same price it was back in October, but I still don’t get why it’s priced the same as ACE...
