    Victory Java Cask

    Better carbonation on this bottle than the last one, making for a much more enjoyable experience. Still not as floored by it as when I first had it.

    Absolutely crushing some leftover spaghetti, too (not pictured).

    It's a good stout but I was probably hoping for a bit more vanilla and sweetness. Maybe it's just a bit too cold right now and will get better. Fingers crossed. Cheers everyone!

    Wonder if the fact that the kick was blocked will be taken into account. Having a few linemen rushing the kicker would be a nice touch.

    Nice clear amber gold color with white cap and lacing.

    Aroma of citrusy, piney hops resting on a solid malt base.

    Taste is hop forward with the flavors matching the scent and the underlying malt is substantial coming across as dry but still pleasantly malty. Fairly complex and well blended flavors that finish dry with a firm but pleasing hop kick.

    More of a sour than an IPA and sporting an odd burnt component in the smell...

    look: 3.25 | smell: 2.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.25

    Hazy, light honey colored body; thin head yet lasting. Interesting scent combination of apricot and charred grain. (perhaps more like slightly burnt rubber from a tire burnout) Very tart flavors; lemon and lime with grapefruit and orange; sour and fruity. Medium-light body; tangy and acidic; sweet but with a dry edge to it.

    Seems more like a straightforward sour ale to me more than an IPA. And if it weren't for the odd burnt tone to the smell, this would be a far better beer.
