I am having the Heady Topper Double IPA from the Alchemist again, ABV 8.00%, IBU 75. It is the third time in my life that I have it, and it is commonly rated the best IPA in the world. Whether there's any truth to that or not, it is a truly magnificent IPA. There's some citrus, tropical fruit, grapefruit and mango, and a piney hoppy taste towards the end, and it is juicy and a little bit dank. Well that is a pretty common profile for a New England IPA. However, all flavor components are exactly right.

Morning coffee-brew crew post. Just opened, tasted, and now enjoying in my mug.
4Noses El Jefe (etc) Stout. Think of a lighter (7.4) version of Xocoveza with just a tad more flavor to the beer, given the weight. These brewers did a great job. Will be getting more of this.
Had to pick an appropriate song, too, given the name of the beer.

I'm halfway through a Fegley's Brewworks Rude Elf Reserve. Just reviewed it pretty highly. It's obviously a christmas beer, so a lot of christmas/winter spices are to be expected. And they follow through on that expectation. Cinnamon is dominant in both the smell & taste. But there's a full array of other spices. Nutmeg, ginger, clove and possibly all-spice. There's no real fruit noticeable over the spices. Dangerous, in that 10.5% is very well hidden.

    Cheers!

These NEIPA's are terrific when you pop 'em open, but by the time I get to the bottom I really don't care for another. I guess these just ain't my "glass 'a beer".

    A new entry from Southern Prohibition . . .

Slightly hazy yellow orange color with very good white cap and lacing.

Aroma of tropical fruits, pineapple and something a bit herbal.

Taste is hop forward with a bent towards the fruit. Again pineapple along with some grapefruit all resting atop a malty base. Malt plays second fiddle here yet maintains a baseline all the way through. Hops build from mid palate to the finish ending on a slightly firm note. I don't really taste herbal but there is something that keeps the hop fruit in check.

Bought a couple of new beers today and decided to try one of them out straight away.
Beavertown 8 Ball rye IPA at 6.2% ABV. Tried a different IPAfrom this brewery a few weeks ago and was blown away so decided to try another one from them. This is nearly as good. Sweet and hoppy with a touch of citrus at the end. Going to London soon and was contemplating visiting their taproom. I think I just made the decision to definitely go
