    Good morning BAs! Well, after >24 hours of continuous snow, we've accrued nearly three inches - wrecks all over. Come on people - it's only three inches. Today's New Breakfast Beer:



    This is unintentionally refermented in the bottle but talk about serendipity - the increased carbonation cuts the potential syrupiness and enhances the secondary flavors of orange and ginger!

    Doc, if you can make it swing by this store. Last time I was there the owner was giving out samples of Hill Farmstead "Anna", really good beer selection for C. FL.

    A cold rain has turned to wet snow but I'm not complaining as we could really use some precipitation. I'll stay inside and celebrate with this Bourbon County bottled 15 OCT 14 instead. There's still a solid bourbon presence with heavy oak in the finish. Perfect on this dark damp morning. Cheers to your weekend barflies!

    I don't normally associate pairing stouts with jalapeno chicken fajitas, but it is a breakfast beer and all, so .... I think this ought to work out just fine.

    Nice light gold color with good white cap and lacing.

    Aroma of slightly herbal, floral, spicy hops with sweet malt underneath.

    Taste begins with a hop firmness that overrides the malt but by mid palate the malt emerges finishing on a slightly sweet note. For me the hops are definitely in the herbal, spicy camp but there is enough malt presence to balance things out.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

    Overall it's a good take on the style and worthy of the Pilsner name.
