    Wow

I loved that beer back in the day. There was a bar just outside DC that sold it and anytime I saw a band there I splurged on a bottle. I think it was in the $6-8 a bottle range then. Compared to draft that was a huge price.

18 days in and im still dry. Had my last beer in the early am of the first.

I have no craving for a beer and also eating less snack foods. I have an extra 15 lbs on me right now so drinking/snacking less is needed. I definitely overdid the ice cream last summer.

I average just under 2.5 beers a day. I would like to get to 1.5 or less this year.

    Enjoy

Family visiting, helping me celebrate my 71st birthday. We're visiting a local winery today, then playing a lot of cards
This is Moylan's Gingerbread Porter. It's pretty good.

Don't get too excited. It's a bit hit and miss with some of them but most has at least a couple of Brew Dog beers. The one at the central station has 8 or 10 decent craft beers if I remember correctly. But it varies from shop to shop so you maybe find something interesting if you look around

[IMG] Poured into a 13 oz Alchemy Teku glass canned on 1/04/19. Pours a very attractive dark orange with a 1 finger plus sticky slightly off white head that leaves some thick rings of lace as it slowly settles. 5

Smell is big bold tangerine, some herbal dank marijuana, pine resin, and grapefruit rind. 4.5

Taste follows tangerine, a slight hint of marijuana, some sticky pine notes, pineapple, and some very nicely balanced grapefruit with very moderate bitterness. 4.75

Mouthfeel is a big medium, gentle carbonation and works wonderfully with this one, not dry but very sticky, and at 8% ABV goes down extremely easy. 4.75

Overall I went in with really high expectations and it really lived up to what I was hoping it would be and that is a massive accomplishment. 4.75

A took off work this lazy Friday, just cause. So as good a time as any for La Fin Du Monde, and pulled out my massive Edith Piaf box. A 14 LP French import set, pretty much everything she recorded (excluding a few live concerts) from 1946-1963.

That sounds like a really good decision Just don't buy all their Penyllan beers. Hoping to drop by soon and pick up a few.

Just cracked open a Sierra Nevada Brut IPA. It's only my second of the style, but I liked the first one and am hopeful the SN will put out a quality product, like they always do. Crystal clear pale golden yellow color. Head faded quickly, but is leaving very good lacing. Bubbles continue to rise from the bottom of the glass throughout. It's dry, but that's the whole point, right? Lemon is dominant with lime & other fruits showing up. Tasty. I think I approve of the style.

    Cheers!

I see that Lagunitas doesn't get all the love that I think they should, but I'm just a dumb ass who enjoys most of what they brew. I look for Undercover Shutdown annually.
