Last year they gave away autumn maple and a couple of other similarly priced bottles. I wouldn't expect it to be CR with cherries, more like Orchard.

that would be VERY disappointing as they make it sound like its a special bottle only for that event

I would be shocked if it was a special bottle for the event, but I'd welcome it.

Of course things will pick up.

You know they are just trying to cleanup some leftover beer from last year on the initial offering, for new members who didn't have access before. Plus as others have said, when the December CC bill is due, most people cut back bigly on the spending .

Hey guys, first time RS member (DC) and it's great to see this thread. Will be trying to make it out to Franklin Hall for the DC event. Regarding the 375ml beer for showing up it said via the email I saw:

Welcome to the Society and the thread. There are many Society veterans here willing to jump into the discussion and share their opinion.

So what made you decide to jump in and join RS?

Thanks for the welcome! Why join? Always loved the Rues' output that I've been able to get my hands on via my local bottle shops, bottle shares, and beer fests. To me, they consistently make badass beer of both big BA and farmhouse variety. Now that they have the store in DC and that I don't have to stand in line for exclusive beers, just seems natural for a lush like me to join up!

    Ummmmm this sounds LIT.

    From Facebook:

"Society Members...are you ready? It's almost time for your first society-exclusive releases of the year and we are especially excited about this one. Decadent bourbon barrel-aged barleywines are nothing new to us, but we love pushing the boundaries of flavor. For Poached Fig, we sourced a measurable amount of ripe Santa Barbara County figs and added 85 lbs. to each barrel filled with Kentucky bourbon barrel-aged barleywine. A bit of vanilla bean along with fresh lemon zest was the final touch to make the sticky, decadent, toffee profile POP like no other. Poached Fig will be in #HoardersSociety and #ReserveSociety member allocations starting February 4th"

Not sure if that's the best use of "measurable"

but I'll let it slide since that sounds money! I wouldn't mind it it was peat smoked too, we'll save that for another time.

    @Swiveln , see told ya!

Anyone think the special secret 375 might be Mocha Wednesday? It wasn't on the DC event taplist, but was on the artwork, then added to the taplist... probably will be Ngongo or something like that.

Yep it's white mocha and Mocha Wednesday is indeed on tap before release. Less than 100 members have showed up so far at 615pm so come down if local to pick up a ticket for the free bottle.

Not sure if this has already been noticed, but looks like a Monkish collab is incoming?

Brunch was pretty fun today! Only downside was the one lady trying to shut everything down half an hour early, luckily the usual staff that was working kinda ignored her and kept pouring until the event actually ended haha.

I think I know who you’re talking about. She’s usually pretty cool, so it sucks to hear that.

Opened up a can of ATTA BOYSENBERRY last night, Man that is a great concoction! Almost made me think Terreux brewed it bc of the tartness of the Boysenberry. Great beer!!
Wish I had bought more of that one.

Agree about ATTA. Fortunately I anticipated it would be good and bought sufficiently. Can’t say the same for Am Copper and Westwood. Hope I get another shot at a few more bottles of those.
