    Good morning everyone

Time to call it a lazy Sunday after I got those chores done yesterday. Right after the holiday season our local mall is open on Sunday morning hence I just got back with a couple beers and I’ll start with West Indies Porter:

Still tasting amazing. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, pepper, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon, charred oak, and brown bread sweetness; with lighter notes of coconut, vanilla, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness; and light-moderate bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready malts, sticky/resinous/rindy hops, and bourbon/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing bitter/resin/tannic dryness. Lightly increasing warmth of 12.2%, mild barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Chinook, Mosaic and Simcoe hop complexity from reDANKulous; awesome malt balance and barrel integration. Not overly sweet for the ABV. Liked it a lot more than the base beer. Feels more dank than I remember, even with the barrel aging. Definitely a lot more mellowed and balanced out after 9 months. Still have a pack left.

Amazing DIPA as always. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, onion, light peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bread, light honey/caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds, light-moderate increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Insanely drinkable, never overly aggressive. Extremely juicy, dank, and vibrant hops; with a nice solid malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. One of the most refreshingly drinkable DIPAs I've ever had. Simcoe, Citra, and Centennial hops. Only a month old. I need to go to Ohio more often.

I somehow avoided a hangover despite having a ton of beer, almost no water and way too little food yesterday. Today, it’s time for my annual run through Game of Thrones, preparing for the final season. The beer, in correct mugware, is Coffee & Cigarettes by Cellarmaker. A huge thanks to @Highbrow for both beer and mug. Cheers, BA!

    This one . . .

Beautiful clear amber gold color with large white cap and good lacing.

Aroma of sweet malt and something spicy like coriander.

Taste is full on rich malt with hops equally as full. These are not strong hops of the citrus variety, rather they have a gentle fullness without bitterness. I do get what I'll call Belgian influences by mid palate, some spicy breadiness that is more mindful of allspice than the usual clove/coriander combination. There's also an absence of banana though I do get a bit of ripe fruit. Complex flavors well combined. Altogether a rich, complex, heady brew that neatly combines the elements of both Belgian and IPA without either style dominating.

This was insane. Thick pour, nice head retention/spotty lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, whipped cream, marshmallow, fudge, cookies, brownie batter, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, and yeast earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms. Very mild herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; perfectly creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Slight sticky hops and chalky char/roast. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying sweetness. Mildly increasing warmth of 11.8%. Dangerously smooth sipping. Mind blowing for a dessert stout as expected. Insanely rich malt complexity and perfectly balanced oreo cookie/cake-like flavors. Not overly sweet/heavy for me at all. Hope they make it again, was very hard to find more than a couple bottles.

This beer is rather sweet, but is great to pair with a lot of plain oatmeal.

Very nice imperial brown. Nice head retention/spotty lacing for the ABV. Flavors of huge caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, whiskey, toasted oak, spicy rye, biscuit, nuts, and brown bread; with lighter notes of raisin, plum, fig, date, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, molasses, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Similar/muted aromas. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming; touch of booze as it warmed. Mild herbal/roast bitterness and whiskey/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; creamy, silky, bready malts; light sticky hop, chalky roast, and oak tannin in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness. No cloying. Dangerously smooth, mildly warming 13.9%, no barrel booze. Likely using the Scottish house yeast as with the imperial stout. Very well balanced rich malts, barrel presence/integration, and fruity yeast complexity. Was expecting a bit more out of it, but really enjoyable and well done for the imperial style.
