Here is my low quality cropped down attempt at the eclipse last night. I only used my prime lens wide open aperture, lowish ISO. I am thinking about buying a telescope soon, could be a fun new hobby.

    Beer:

Mind blowing insane as expected. Lasting thick head retention/soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, medium roast coffee, almonds, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, coconut, whiskey, rum, marshmallow, fudge, brownie batter, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, char, leather, tobacco, and herbal hops. Very mild herbal/roast/char bitterness, and whiskey/rum/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Slight sticky hops, chalky char/roast, and rum/whisky/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/spicy/tannic dryness; no cloying, acrid, astringency. Dangerously smooth, mildly increasing warmth of 11.7%, no barrel booze. Perfectly balanced rich malts, flavorings, and barrel presence/integration all around. Not quite as amazing as Triple barrel when I reviewed it, but quite close.

Short walk this morning as it is 42 and windy. Home with a new to me milk stout - “Death Roll” by Red Cypress Brewery, Winter Springs FL:

Bitter roast overplays its part, the sweetness of the lactose left to play second fiddle. Have a great Monday y’all!

Good morning BAs! 3 degrees when I went to the YMCA earlier (0600) this morning. We got a
negligible overnight snowfall so the roads were kind of greasy - otherwise, a beautiful morning with a brilliant full moon. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

I think there may be some coffee in it.

Incredible as usual this year. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate honey, white bread dough, light caramel/toasted malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, medium-full bodied, and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter resin/rind dryness, no hop astringency. Amazing classic Columbus, Chinook, Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great balanced malt backbone. Not overly sweet or bitter, extremely well balanced. Lightly boozy alcohol, but dangerously easy drinking. Never disappoints. Feels less sweet than last year. Will get another pack while I still can.

Hoof Hearted Thanks For Letting Us Play Tonight. Fantastic NEAPA. Lasting head retention/thick soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy wheat/oats, sticky hops; and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering resin dryness; no hop astringency. Very smooth/soft, 5.5%. Amazing Galaxy profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a nice wheat/oat/malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness from lingering resin dryness. Spot on style, got a pack after the review. Hope we see other stuff from them soon.

    Good morning BA
Rough nightshift with the ice and cold. It's a maintenance manager's nightmare.

Continuing with my RIS appreciation week

This is definitely one to appreciate. We had a one time drop on this beer in the fall, so I bought one and left it in the fridge. Big dark chocolate and excellent feel. Stellar (morning) nightcap. Cheers all!

Incredible imperial stout. Aromas and flavors of big milk chocolate, cocoa, banana, coconut, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, nuts, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of coffee, molasses, licorice, raisin, cherry, smoke, and herbal hops. Mild herbal/roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, rich mouthfeel that is amazing. Slight sticky hop, chalky roast, and bourbon/oak tannins. Slightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness. No cloying/acrid. Dangerously smooth sipping. Mildly increasing warmth of 11%, with no barrel booze. Another easy winner as expected. Perfectly balanced rich malts, flavorings, and bourbon barrel integration. Minimal booze/tannins on barrels. Always buy more than 1 pack every release regardless. Never been disappointed.

More of this good local dipa here ba. Hopnami, from Greenport Harbor. It features citra, mosaic, warrior, and amarillo hops. Lots of nice citrus, bitter, and dank hop notes. Possibly, my favorite pure dipa on the island.
