    Beautiful sunny morning, 55 degrees with a slight breeze - perfect dog walking weather. Not a stout, but warming nonetheless - Curmudgeon’s Better Half:



    Bottled 8/29/18. Lots of bourbon and sweet malt. Still boozy and oh, so tasty! It’s going to get up into the 70s today, and I need to make some beer runs to set aside for upcoming trades. Have a great Tuesday!

    She’s got a gnarly ear infection, so she isn’t feeling too good. Thanks to whomever chopped her ears off years ago. About every 4 months this happens.

    Clear rich gold color with excellent white cap and lacing.

    Piney, citrusy aroma with a distinct touch of grapefruit.

    Taste is hop forward and plenty of it. The grapefruit elements are prominent with a sharpness that is strong without being bitter. Malt is substantial without serving up much in the way of malt flavor. More as a carrier for the hops and it does that job well. A fairly complex, well designed, well crafted IPA for those who are fans of this American approach to IPAs.

    Founders Breakfast Stout

    Odd morning. I wake up almost every single day at 3 am, and then again at 5 am, after which I nap for about an hour until it's time to get up. Well, this morning I couldn't fall back asleep. I just felt hot, which was odd.

    ....but it wasn't me! My thermostat batteries died, and apparently that meant it couldn't regulate temperature any more, just keep the heat on. It was 89 frickin' degrees in my house!

    I've never sweat before just getting dressed in the morning. Jeez.

    :rage:

    I've had this beer about a Brazillion times, and somehow I don't have it often enough. Some classics have earned their reputations.

    Agreed. Since Peche Mortel stopped coming to SWFL, the Baby is my favorite breakfast beer...need to get more today!

    Home early today and going with a 50/50 mix of Death Wish Coffee and Café Deth here. Seemed like a no brainer when I was looking for a stout to blend with the coffee

    Death Wish Coffee is where it's at if you like strong coffee. Beware though . . . it packs a serious punch
