Going to be traveling from Chicagoland to Cincinnati for work, only really have time to stop somewhere for a few beers and some dinner but always try to make it worth my while when traveling. Any recommendations for a place with good beer and solid food would be appreciated!
    Cheers!

I'm not familiar with the Cincy area to make recommendations, but I'll suggest that you use the Places feature here on BA if you haven't already, or are not familiar with it. It's a great tool.

Also, if you mention the area of town where you'll be staying, you could get recommendations that are closer to where you'll be and save you some driving.

What part of town will you be visiting? Each area has some highlights and I can make some recommendations.

What part of town will you be staying in?

Lots of great places to check out, but I'd hate to recommend one far away from where you are staying since your time will be limited.

Thanks everyone: Going by google maps I see areas called: 20 mile stand, The Lodge and Commerce Park. We will be coming from the airport however so anywhere on the way between the airport and here is fine too. Just looking somewhere not too far from the hotel to keep it simple for the group.
Thanks again everyone for your help!

Ok, well...sounds like the Loveland area to me. That's pretty far from my side of town and I don't get out that way hardly ever.

I know there are some breweries in that area, but I can't really give a recommendation. Hopefully a BA from that side of town can chime in a give you some good info.

When I went there a few years ago, I enjoyed Mad Tree for some hops and Taft’s Ale House for solid beers in a really cool venue. Rhinegeist was cool though the beer garden on the roof doesn’t sound as good now haha. Sorry that doesn’t help with your food question

Sonder is pretty close to the area you're staying (Deerfield Twp.). It's a newer brewery, so they're still tweaking some things, but it's well worth a visit. Plenty of different styles, so no matter what you're into, you should find something you like. I always get the poutine appetizer since I'm usually not there around dinner time, but I hear the rest of their food is just as good.

Also, if you can make it to Loveland, Cappy's Wine & Spirits is a great place to hunt for bottles and has 40 different taps.

Highly recommend Cappy's - not for your dinner group, but if you have time to sneak away on your own - incredible to-go selection.

Fretboard is worth a look in Blue Ash, not terribly far from where you’ll be. Depending on the time of day, getting closer to the breweries closer to downtown isn’t too difficult.

Is there a beer bar in downtown Cincinnati that has a lot of local beers on tap? I'm in town for one night on Tuesday and doesn't look like I'll be able to venture to any of the breweries listed.

If I had to choose one, would it be Streetside, Listerman, or Braxton?

    Thanks in advance!

If you could only choose one, central to downtown, I'd go with Braxton Labs. They have two locations in northern Kentucky, right across the river from downtown. If you go to their Labs location, you get the added bonus that it's adjacent to the "largest beverage alcohol retailer in the U.S."- The Party Source. It's a great tap room that also features plenty of premium guest taps along with a plethora of their own options.

As far as beer bars downtown, the two I would most recommend would be Liberty's Bar and Bottle, and Queen City Exchange, although I can't say I frequent the beer bars in that area a ton. I'm sure others here may be more help.

If you want somewhere very close to downtown, go to Braxton Labs inside Party Source. If dark beers are your thing, hit up Listermann. If fruited beers are more your style, head over to Streetside. There's no wrong choice; it's just a matter of what sounds best.

Thanks again for the help! I did go to Braxton Labs and was able to try a wide variety of beers. It also happened to be Rare Bourbon Tuesday so I was able to have a nice 12 year Pappy as well. Bonus!
