Good morning BAs! No snow overnight but it was 1 degree went I went to the Y. By the time I left, it had shot up to 2 degrees. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

    A decent cherry brew.

Gonna have a quickie after a somewhat hard night of work. A 2013 bottle...definitely kept this one too long. Hints of caramel and brown sugar, really smooth, but pretty blah. The aftertaste kinda leaves something to be desired too. Enjoy what’s in your glass today BA

Popped a bottle of Ithaca Beer Co's Flower Power IPA. I generally am turned off by things with hippy marketing, but this is an excellent beer. Gonna make me buy a pair of bell bottoms. It has a tremendous appearance. It's full of tropical & citrus fruits (pineapple/mango/papaya/grapefruit/orange peel). I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for this one in the future.

Deep amber gold color with good white cap and lacing.

Aroma of rich, toasty malt and honey. The honey, fermented with the malt I understand, does come across as honey like but is rather dry giving off only a sense of sweetness without being overly sweet. There is a low key hop presence but this brew isn't about hops so they are there just for balance. Finish is clean with touches of sweetness in the aftertaste. Taste is more roasty than toasty malt but without roasted bitterness.

Got about an 1 1/2" of snow this morning. Good day to have off, start adding Mobile Fidelity inner and outer sleeves on the LPs, and have a classic American IPA...

Beaver Island's 'Sweet Miss' (thanks to @MNChristine). I fine beverage to savor after shoveling snow off the property this cold, blustery morning...

Dark brown body topped with a thick, frothy and sticky light tan head; rings of foam circling the glass. The smell contains rich elements of sweet chocolate and cocoa with some charred grain notes. Gently sweet flavors of cocoa and chocolate dominate the taste with some low-key grain husk and hop bitterness in the background. Heavy body; smooth and silky with a nice sweetness on the palate.

A well-made classic stout styling, balanced and flavorful and very easy drinking.

Should have had this beer hours ago. Been up since 3am. Snow with 50mph winds have been making a mess outside and closing Interstate 90.

    Cheers guys!

    Morning, Bar Mates,

Snowy day here in Illinois, prepping for potentially record-setting cold tomorrow night through Thursday.

Got the snow cleared from the driveway, sharing this with the wife:

Excellent chocolate roast, very present medium barrel, and chocolate finish.

Might have to open another Firestone Walker bottle later...

Enjoy the weather BAs and be safe!

Citrus, orange, tangerine, mango, some white grape, lemon all backed by a dry cracker background. A little sharp though, maybe hop burn. Could use a little more carbonation to make it bounce and shine.

    Cheers!

Balcony works great for quick-chilling beer. Besides the snow the outside temperature is about - (minus) 10 Celcius / 20 Fahrenheit.

I'm having my 2nd ever beer from Oskar Blues. I really, really liked the 1st one and the second one is following suit. It's Hotbox, a coffee porter. It smells & tastes like black coffee with a touch of chocolate. They advertise dark fruits, but I'm not getting them. May be too subtle to come through the strong black coffee. I'm sorry I didn't wait for Wifey to open this one. She would absolutely love the everloving hell out of this one. Guess she'll have to wait until I pick up more.
