Ever been whelmed?

    Had a beer that left you thinking nothing at all, but satisfied?

    Courage Best for me. Had a few pints at the weekend. Quite well kept, but mildly flavoured. Knocking back four or five pints was still deeply satisfying.

    SNPA whelms me. Beer equivalent of the missionary position. Not all that much flash, but it feels pretty damn good and it's been with me since the beginning.

    After a busy brew day on Saturday, I grabbed a seat in the half shade in the backyard, emptied 3 not-necessarily-ultra-fresh Spaten Oktoberfest into a liter mug, and knocked it back rather quickly. "Extremely" enjoyable.

    Sam Adams Boston Lager... nothing exciting but every time I drink it, I wonder why I don't more often...

    Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan... no flash, just easy drinking

    I agree with Boston Lager, everytime I have it on draft it is good. Narwhal also fit in the "whelmed" category for me, a solid stout for a solid price.

    I had a couple pints of Bass with dinner last night. They were exponentially whelming. More flavor than the other beers on tap, but really didn't make me think anything besides, "Well, that's beer."

    I have the same experience with Brooklyn Lager. I don't seek it out but every time I have it I think I should do it more often.
