Got a news story for a brewery we don't talk about much? Something you want to share but don't feel like creating a new thread? Here you go!

Well, Diamond Knot just dropped a pic on FB of their new packaging. I'ma bet it was done by the same folks that did Bale Breakers new stuff: [IMG]

Could be. Those folks have done a lot of work for breweries everyone in the NW forum would recognize.

I wonder why the Industrial IPA can is such an outlier. Is that their flagship?

Whoever did the new design: I like what they did with the Diamond Knot logo, but the can design feels like it's missing something. (Maybe I won't feel that way if I see 'em in person.)

Yeah, pretty much, as much as they have one.

Although, the IPA can does seem to say "Flagstate". Typo on the prototype?

Industrial is their IIPA (it's what they use for the first "I" instead of Imperial) and the can shows it as 7.9%. Maybe they are trying to make it the flagship and downplay that it's heftier than most standard IPAs? The design variance is strange.

Flagstate IPA appears to be a valid name of one of their IPAs rather than a typo.

Flagstate was just added to the site here 3 weeks ago, so that's new to me. The basic IPA is still listed. And, as much of a fanboy as I used to be, I'm surprised I've reviewed 6 of their beers. i know I've drankedied a lot more than that. Hmm.

I sent a Facebook message to Diamond Knot earlier this afternoon, asking about their new can designs.

@beertunes is right: The cans were designed by the same folks who handled the Bale Breaker re-design.

New brewery in Olympia. Headless Mumby Brewing, lagers only, I’ve heard good things, hoping to check them out soon.

Man, there better be a solid reason to name any business Headless Mumby.

Apparently it’s a mashup of the names the co-founders had given their own home brew operations. It’s almost so bad, it’s good.

At least it's not some obscure pop culture reference that I woulda had to look up.

    WOOF, that is BRUTAL.

NW breweries, plz cancel all your rebrands. Your cans/bottles are fine.

Edited version: While I have some issues with the Diamond Knot rebrand, I think it is superior to their previous labels by a distance best measured in light years.

Diamond Knot's old bottle designs were super ancient.

I was fresh out, so today stocked up on sixers of three beers I hadn't tried before -- it's been a while since I've bought beer at a grocery store and it was admittedly a novelty to find all kinds of beer in sixpacks that I'd never even heard of. Nothing exotic: Fremont, Way Out West ... but novel nonetheless.
